Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Thanks for your detailed analyses smile And keeping each in a seperate post makes them very readable (as I'm sure was your intent and those rumors saying you did it solely to push your post-count are unjustified wink )

It honestly would've been a mess had I put all that info into a single post.

The Unfertile North

Haven't found anything of value up there so far. Not even a poorly-placed Silver vein.frown

The only thing worth noting is that I have a pretty darn good choking point for taking out barbarians east of World's End Lake (I'll post a screen shot once I've played the next turn). That's going to be valuable since the tundra are bound to end up heavily infested. I can keep my north clear using only a few units, and those units are bound to gain some serious amounts of experience since so many barbarians will concentrate on that area.

Border pop coming up at Sandoria next turn so I'm going to grab a screen shot of my homeland as well once I get the save.

Overview of the Empire

My Sand Constructor just completed the Deer Camp which means I'll have two Constructors as soon as turn 16. The Fur and Sheep tiles will be improved next.

I have two nice looking grassland rivers that will be the centre of attention once I spawn another Sand Zergling for exploration duty. The west and northeast seem pretty horific at a first glance though. Notice the almost complete lack of resources around Sandoria? Not good. There must be more resources in the nearby fog.

I actually forgot to take a screen shot of that choke point I was talking about so I'll leave it be until next turn. Animal Husbandry is in the bag by then so I'll hopefully have a Horse tile to show you also. I so hope I have Horse close to a river and not in either of the wasteland areas, since I plan to base my early army close to exclusively on War Chariots.

Time to Come up with a Name for War Chariots

Animal Husbandry is done and research placed on Bronze Working next. The Sand-god granted my wish of Horse being placed at either of the rivers, namely the one to the south. Thank you, oh mighty one.bow

Blue dot represent the preliminary placement of my Horse city. I'd prefer not to borrow the Sheep from Sandoria but it may come to that if there's no other food source nearby. My next Sand Zergling will head south to check what's in the fog.

And here comes the choke point screenie I've been promising for a few days now.

Two War Chariots placed on the yellow dots should easily be able to fend off the Tundra Barbs. Any Warrior or Archer approaching from the north will either have to suicide against my units or expose themselves on the lowland, marked with black as the Killing Grounds. Once Axeman start to appear the War Chariots should be equiped with enough experience (read. Shock promotion) to safely attack them in the forests or beat them on defense.

Howl in the Mountains

My Zergling has managed to get cornered by two different tribes of wolves. Due to bonuses (+25% tile defense, +40% vs animals, +10 vs barbs) I'm pretty much looking at getting a free promotion out of this encounter with very little (if any) damage taken. That is of course provided that they both attack. *holds thumbs*

There has been some score increases over the last few turns. Moogle (size 4) and Timmy (size 2) grew their capitals, and Moogle gained yet another tech (likely to be the one he didn't have out of Agriculture and Mining). I get my second Worker next turn, and so far it's doubtful whether Moogle have even started on his first yet. He isn't building Stonehenge out of the gate, is he?rolleye I'm not good at reading the soldier points, but they sort of indicate he might be doing just that. I should probably look into it more closely, but I'm not sure I will.

eek

Look at all that empty barren wilderness you got. Are you planning on leaving it open for barbarians so you can get free XP?

I definitly plan to leave it open, but the main reason for that isn't to farm the barbs for xp but because:

1. There's no point in founding useless cities up there.
2. Killing them when they get close takes a lot less effort than fog busting that massive area.
