We'll also see how many times over the next few days I try to post too fast and get hit by the RB post throttler. I used to hit that ALL the time over in PBEM5 (the original)
Okay so first of all the basics. I have no idea how much you guys have been seeing in the other threads. For that matter I have no idea WHO ALL IS EVEN WATCHIN over here.
But here's where we stand
Not so hot. Plako's description of the civ as "Meatbalz's civ is overall in the middle of the pack. " is a BIT deceptive I think
So yeah. Ad Hoc (native america) and I are definitely hurting and it looks like Serdoa (Byz) is a step above. Shoot the Moon and WarriorKnight are the cream of the crop.
Good news from the victory screen is that I'm actually in the lead in land area! I'm Financial so I have some options here.
There's a few islands that are still in play which I will get to a bit later on

Okay so first let's talk techs. First of all, the obvious information.
Here are all my techs.
Yup. 70 turns in, they all fit on one page
I will be getting Construction next turn (I juggled the tiles so that I could get it in 1T). Construction is huge for me of course because I'm Maya and my +3 happy UB (Ball Court) is there.
So, the basics
* Nobody has Alphabet
* Serdoa has Monarchy and Feudalism (Oracle'd it)
* Nobody has Theology or Code of Laws
* Serdoa is the only one with Currency
* Also, from the Civics screen (not pictured) Shoot and WK also have Monarchy (in HR)
* Everyone has BW and is in Slavery (no surprise)
* Nobody is in OR though of course at least one person has Monotheism.
Okay so next I'm going to try and figure out, based on the pre-req bonus, how many people have the various (and many) techs I don't have

Okay let's start with Meditation
It's 80 base beakers * 1.3 Standard Map * .67 Quick Speed = 69 beakers
So the beakers I generate will be the ones displayed on the main screen, plus 1.
The Known Civs bonus will be 1.07 if one civ has it, 1.15 if two, 1.22 if three and if all four civs have it, it will be 1.30
The requirements bonus is 1, 1.2 or 1.4 as usual.
So Meditation. Fooling around with my commerce, if I have 53 beakers per turn (not including the free one) I can't get it in one turn but if I have 54, then I do.
So let's say 55 (54 + 1 free beaker).
So let's assume one person knows it
That would be 55 *1.07 = 58.85 - floor to 58
58 * 1.2 pre-req bonus = 69.6 - floor to 69 and that matches up! Woo I love it when a plan actually works!
So Meditation is known by 1 other civ - has to be Serdoa who has the Buddhist holy city.
So let's do Polytheism (87 game beakers). 65 is the fewest that I can get the tech in one.
So 66 (65 + 1) * 1.07 = 70.62. 70 * 1.2 is 84 - not enough! If we assume 2 owners (COMMA) that's 66 * 1.15 which is 75.9. 75 * 1.2 is 90. That's one more than Poly, but 74 * 1.2 is only 88 so I think that's correct. So 2 folks know Polytheism.

Okay next up on the tech screen - HBR which is 217 beakers.
We're getting into situations where I can't research the tech in one turn no matter what so we'll have to figure things out.
78+1 is the min to get it done in 2.
52+1 is the min to get it in 3.
39+1 is the min to get it in 4.
So it could be 157 158 or 159
So I think that is 158, and 2 people know it
158 * 1.15 is 181 ,and 181 * 1.2 is 217. My guesses would be WarriorKnight and Serdoa, as I don't see any horse archers out of India or Native America
Construction - I have 55 beakers remaining. 41+1 is the min to get it in 1. That doesn't add up right, but it looks like only 1 civ with Construction, which is nice ,since I have not seen any catapults.
(Sorry for all this text - I write this down as I'm trying to figure it out - so it's a bit of stream of consciousness)
Metal Casting (391b) - 103+1 is the min to get it in 3. So it could 310 311 or 312. So I'm not getting exact results here either but I think that it's just one person with MC. I have also not seen any triremes out and about.
Calendar (304) - I started just messing with the slider and calculating it at different percentages, rather than trying to go in and find the exact beaker amounts. I wasn't getting precise values anyways and this way is easier. It's a shame I'm not in caste and can't hire a artist for 1b. Anyways 1 person has Calendar
Similarly, Aesthetics 0-1 (didn't put all the time into it since who cares)
Now let's try Monarchy which is 261b but is a bit tricky because I don't have the pre-reqs for it - so I can only track it off of F6. I believe the way F6 works there as it counts no pre-req bonus (which makes sense).
Yeah that didn't work out so I'm just going to assume it's the 3 people who I can see in Hereditary Rule.
So I think I'm probably at the end of the useful life of this types of calculations.
Next up (tomorrow) some more figgerin.

And 14 Ancient techs and 2 Classical so about 5.5 per Ancient and 11 for a Classical
My opponents

Ooh that felt better.
Okay I have a few more posts I need to get down as I try to figure out what is going on and plan some initial strategy. I hope to pass along the save either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how much time I get here
And thank @Plako and @Novice for commenting in here - for me it's fun to write and post in any case, just because I find that it helps me to catalog and organize my thoughts, but it's especially nice to know people are following along

Have to say your threads tend to be some of the best, so I'm glad you took this over. That and we haven't had a regoarrarr thread in faaaar too long. I'll be lurking for sure.
Thanks Scooter - I will try not to disappoint
