Too bad that AW team Pitboss game never got off the ground. No diplo, no silly rules (if read another Double Move Rule again, I'll have to suppress the urge to bang my head against a wall and flush my laptop down the toilet).

I wouldn't mind playing a pitboss. Getting a host might be hard though, only one I know is Rego (actually, it might have been sunrise lol) and he seems to be away.

I'd like to play another Pitboss as well! Maybe Sunrise would be willing to host.
AW will limit the amount of rules indeed!

Me personally, i have no interest in pitboss anymore. My reasons are kind of linked:
1. I don't want to play An Always War game. I enjoy diplomacy and it adds a LOT to the game in my opinion. CTON is just single player with super smart AI in my opinion.
2. The various extra rules that we have to implement regarding warring and double moving etc terrify me. The one implemented in PB3 was so long winded and confusing that i had no idea what to do if i ever wanted to declare war.
If some other guys want to go pitboss, then by all means, go for it. I won't hold it against you as it certainly holds some big advantages. For those that prefer PBEM though, i'm still looking to get another game off the ground if possible

I couldn't do a pitboss, either. Some of the reasons are the same as Kyan's, but I don't think I could handle a PB schedule right now. While I could technically play at my convenience, I recall having to play at odd hours, especially when war occurred. Not really possible for me right now.

Very good point. I forgot this. I can play a turn every day somewhere between 6pm GMT and 1am. If i'm forced into a time split that doesn't let me have this slot- then i'd be fecked heh.

With regards to the options available to us, I personally think that a 4 player game is a little small but am happy to do that if we need to split it into two games.
Its a lot more fun to have 6 players, but anymore than that would be too slow on a PBEM, I know as well as any the dangers of PBEMs developing delays and it can be frustrating for all the players, so I would prefer if we didn't go above 6 teams in the game.
So I think it would be best for either splitting into two games or for people to team up.
PBEM4 (Greens): Sulieman of Inca
PBEM12: Elizabeth of Korea (Lurked by Magil)

I'm confused now .. so who's actually confirmed as playing?
I'll happily take an experienced player as a dedicated lurker (come mentor) if they're worried about commitment to other, existing, games

*Sandover
*Whosit + Ravus
*gingereagle1969 + Dedicated Lurker
*Nakor + Gaspar
*Malakai + Dedicated Lurker
*Tredje
Everyone on this list is confirmed. It's just that, as-is, we have 7 teams, whereas 6 is more convenient/balanceable. Don't know if Sandover wants a partner/lurker, but it seems you could probably team with Malakai, perhaps?

Whosit Wrote:but it seems you could probably team with Malakai, perhaps? hmm .. not sure here ... he's almost as inexperienced as me, having lurked on his PBEM4 thread , and I feel our playing styles may not match effectively, I'm not keen on over-whipping(!) ... and did you see his post about possible city names?!? I do hope he didn't actually use those
looks like I may have to stick it out to go it alone, if possible
