Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

A long time ago on a planet far far away....

I'm not sure. I didn't really think about it until after I sent this latest turn and left for work. Cottages will hopefully have a big impact on it anyway.

If I miss out on Judaism, I could potentially go for Christianity as well. I'll be able to hook up marble soon and possibly use the Oracle to grab it.

Beeline for Judaism = 28 turns... (minus a few due to growth) ouchie! Fun for lurkers though

Yeah, it's definitely going to take some time. I'll also probably grab fishing or hunting before monotheism, but those techs are cheap.

I expect things to be accelerated considerably though. Each riverside cottage(before growth) will be worth 3 commerce and I'll have a lot of them very quickly. I have 2 workers already, and can produce them quickly.

My short term plans right now are to chop a terrace asap in both cities and get some cottages up. Verne will also be building a barracks soon, preferably before producing more quechuae. After that, I'm undecided. I might start trying for a quick conquest, but I'd like to get a better feel for my opponents first. I also don't want to do what I did in FFH-9 and capture a city that ends up being useless to me.

Nope. Not buying it. :-D

Lots of pictures for you this turn(33). It doesn't look like my opponents are updating their threads much, so feel free to request more.

Pottery is in, but Judaism was founded IDL. At the moment, I'm planning to grab Hunting next then either Fishing or Animal Husbandry. I figure I'll focus on improving the fur/pig/deer/crabs as well as finding horses.
I set tech to 0% for one turn to avoid the roundoff.

With Pottery in, Verne starts building a terrace. I'm not sure what it'll build after that. I'd like to get a barracks in before I build any more Quechua.

The new city, Herbert, was actually founded 1N of the desert spot after I realized it would pick up additional coast(not ocean) tiles. Coast tiles are pretty strong for a financial leader, and it's going to be a pretty decent Moai city as well.
At the moment, the city is working on quickly getting a terrace. Ten or twelve (x2 for expansive) hammers produced over 3 turns ought to do it with a chop providing the rest.

One worker is chopping, the other is building a FP cottage.

Demographics say that only one other human player has a second city. I haven't been watching closely enough to say who.

I just realized something else... I was thinking I had to do a beeline to monarchy for happiness, but I have stone so the Pyramids might be a better investment.

I should consider my options, but I might send my next settler to the southeast...

Thanks for the regular updates and screenshots, Ellimist! Much appreciated. bow

Nice work on getting the settler out quickly with the double chop.

No problem, haphazard.

Turn 34 is done. I'm not planning my expansion/pyramids/etc micro very far ahead due to the unpredictable AI potentially screwing it up, but here's what I'm doing right now:

I turned tech back on. Right now the plan is to get Hunting-AH next. I want to be able to pasture the pig at Verne as well as find horses, and I may as well get the prereq bonus from Hunting for it. I normally wouldn't bother, but I'm not ready to pasture the pigs for a bit and I'll need to get hunting soon anyway.

The chop finished in Herbert this turn and I'll slow build the terrace(2 turns) the rest of the way by working a FP.

Verne will actually grow next turn by not working the copper. I'm thinking I'll build a 3rd worker at size 3. I'll be able to produce 17 hpt toward a worker, so it would finish on eoT39. My two current workers will be busy for awhile building cottages. (The first three cottages will complete on turns 36/39/41.) I'll probably work towards whipping the next settler(for 2 or 3 population) after the worker.
