New Civ 5 PBEM - BNW

When making the map our starting biases should be taken in consideration. They are a big part of civ balance. So no moving capitals or massive overhauls. Just minor modifications to make things more balanced.

Not that I expect anyone to make massive overhauls :P I don't even know if the WB is any good in this game.

I would be okay if someone just rolls a few maps and picks the best one.

Ah, I was forgetting, we should add Assiria to the ban list, like previously discussed. They seem incredibly overpowered.

Not sure on that, since their UU is a catapult replacement. More time to prepare against rush, when compared to battering ram. That said, I haven't played with or against Assyria yet

It's not clear from the description, but Assyria's free techs are the cheapest unique tech that the conquered city has. Siege Tower is good but unlike the Battering Ram can't be popped from a hut, and requires a Classical Era tech. Personally I don't find that to be overpowered enough to be necessary to ban, but I wouldn't be all that fussed if it was banned.

Uh, if I read it right, siege tower gives attack bonuses for other siege towers as well. Sounds pretty OP after all, don't mind if we just ban them.

I'm withdrawing my signup, even if I was the one making the thread. I can make a map if you guys want (or roll one at least decently balanced). Hopefully the game can still happen (I think 5 players may be better than 6, because it makes for easier 1-turn-per-day pace).
