It's been a quiet few turns of Peace; teched Education and am putting up Universities in the vain hope of remaining somewhat competitive, while Workers are terraforming the land into a wasteland of Workshops - no paving over improvements just yet though, since there are so many bare tiles to improve first.
And then this happened:
(nice natural spread BTW!)
It's 2t to the expiry of the Picklepeace and 7/8t left on Greenline's treaty, so obviously now I can't take advantage of those 5t to hit picklepikkl without risk of 2way
and losing the 80gpt that's coming from the Greenline Peace deal.
OTOH, it does mean that I can be at war with Greenline before he "expects" it. If, for example I spotted a ripe target for a Commando raid
If only I had some way of producing Commandoes:
I'm guessing that Sian added the GGs as part of a plan to use this as a Drafting station, but during the Peacetime I've taken the opportunity to regrow the city and now it seems silly not to convert for Commando use. With the 2 Settled GGs it's still 4xp short of popping Commandoes without assistance. I've got 1GG in hand, but am quite a way away from getting the next; of course civics are an option, but there I'm only at 1/3 of the needed GPs.
I'm keeping this guy in hand since if I get 5 Cavs with 13xp, that will work out; or I could go with just 2 of 7xp or 3 of 10xp if I can dig them out. Of course I also need to grab MilStrat tech - preferably without revealing that via espionage - so there's a bit more planning involved, but in principle I could declare on pickle solely to trigger war with Greenline and make a premptive strike on some soft underbelly.
Which begs the (serious) question, how much Kingmaking is too much in this game?
