I've always read that as Spies are allowed to be built, but they can't be used to run missions. I can't help feeling that spies being banned completely would be defined as "Spies banned" or "No Spies".
Thanks. I'm still trying to figure out my research path towards CoL and Currency. Since spies can't be used then I'll skip Alphabet altogether.

Buddhism was founded a few turns ago. Based on Culture graph I'm thinking it's greenline who took it. And Ruff just acquired Writing, so I'm guessing he wants to Oracle CoL. On the barbarian front: Took down a barb warrior near the capital. Skirmisher gets 2 xp so will probably go north to harass a barb city. We also get visibility on the other barb city.

That's four Barb warriors in the Western city. I have two Skirmishers in the area as shown above, plus a newly built Skirmisher and Axe heading north too, and more are on the production line
Do you really want to keep that barb city? Did you research myst for the monument?

no I meant you probably want the city 1W to claim 1st ring pigs but if chopping out a monument wins over sending a settler, the original spot is defensible, especially with the hill bonus in the later eras.
