I'm actually not sure, someone mechanics-wise care to take a stab? I feel like it's the highest population city remaining, but I don't know, and I don't know if being in revolt makes a difference. Please note, I think the Zulus are doing something awesome; that's not to say I don't think we should ruthlessly kick them off this landmass as soon as is practical.

True, it's hardly tragic to get three turns of research.

I approve of the annexation of White Tower. smile

Also pickets and Triremes. nod

If you're dead set on Aesthetics after Monarchy, does SoZ give the exp boost to water units? or just land? 'cause we have Ivory and VA can push out some mad hammers with the right tile configuration. And some high exp ships are looking to be mighty handy on this map. wink

In the year 173, the Generican city of Riverside Manor completed construction of the Temple of Artemis, considered one of the wonders of the world. Only a decade before, the Hindu Holy City of Crabs Galore had been captured by the Zulu Exileic Kingdoms, leading to great schisms in the faith. As the most popular religion in the vast Generican Autocracy lost adherents in droves, the Cult of Riversidonean Artemis had grown.

The goddess Artemis, known also as Diana or Lawless Lucy, was associated most commonly with archery, and as such had adherents throughout the cities of the entire Generican civilization. However, in the small city of Riverside Manor, located on the southeastern coast of the Long Salt Lake, her cult took on a far wider aspect.

Her central icon, a wooden carving bejeweled and decorated with amber, was an ancient artifact purported to have fallen from the sky. Riversidonean Artemis was not just a goddess of archery, but also of childbirth, hunting, and mercantile endeavors. Riverside Manor, located at the very center of the wide extent of the Generic civilization, attracted great numbers of merchants for all its tiny size, turning it into a commercial as well as religious hub.

The legacy of the Temple of Artemis is remarkable, built as it was in a time of slow growth within the Generic civilization. A few other civilizations were more populous at the time, and many other societies were experiencing far broader economic and technological changes. However, no civilization was considered greater than Generica in the later half of the second century, a perception that would only grow with time.

...dangerously, for other empires took note of the High Kings for the first time.

Hey Thoth, I'm flying most of today, think you could invade White Castle when it rolls? No worries if you can't, I can play after the rehearsal dinner.

I'm pretty sure I won't have time. Looks like we're going to be up tonight in the EITB PB. wink

I logged in for a lookaround and was greeted by a diplo "offer" from Scooter. 3gp for 3gp. Not sure what he's after here, but I declined. smile

Looks like we need one more turn to consolidate our forces in the East? 1 spear and the cats are behind our stikers.

Logged into game and poked around the cities a bit, but no units moved.

Another diplo from Scooticator:

2g for 2g this time.

You've still got some time on the clock.

On reflection, this was some sort of countdown most likely. However, it wasn't to be. As noted, the stack wasn't perfectly set up for a run this turn. (Also seen: Moved to let Swallowdale grow a bit more to accelerate the Hindu missionary to Riverside).

However, I had checked out the city with the speed galley before I read about the second offer there, so when I saw just a single impi...

Yeah. Sadly lost Yuri's Battalion, but Mindy cleaned up and kicked ass as usual. So we're now the proud owners of all of ex-Zululand. I offered peace, which was accepted. Sorry guys, have fun elsewhere by all means. Just don't come back!

The fresh moneys inspired me to ignore the market in Lakeside and burst a full 100% for a turn. Let's see how long Monarchy takes, I suspect not very long at all. Once the baray is online, Lakeside can grow up to take all of its tiles sans coast. Good deal. thumbsup

So, here's Khmer, Turn 123. The land pictured here is plenty enough to launch a spaceship, by the way.

...not that that's going to happen.

As peaceful and cuddly as it's all been here, it's an adventure elsewhere. Bloody fighting continues, but it looks like Pindooter are winning. They've taken all of South Inida, has converted to Hinduism, and around going to get to extract their worker force for free. In worrisome news, Great Library might be a bit unrealistic with Serdoa's engineer.

I sure hope this is taken for +1 diplo here. Go forth, my Zuliu home-brothers, and use the workers to build a nice new home. Go for it, lads. Just don't come back...agreed on needing MC soonishly.

...but we at least are knight-immune.

Also, be prepared to explore the perks of the divine right of kings. Monarchy, 1t...and I only needed to build wealth in two places, VA and Greenways. We're just about ready to settle another city here, workers are almost done with the core work. Pity Serfdom isn't the cards for the northern jungles.

OR isn't in the cards with how expensive it is without a religion benefit. So we're going to get a missionary out of Swallowdale ASAP guys...but not until after revolt.

Teching pretty well for an economic train wreck.
