I think sending the scout to find Elkad is a very good use.

I don't think we need the horses to handle barbarians. We should be fine with warriors up until we do get horses hooked up, no need to rush for them

Next move Nw-NW to the forest hill.

One question about the Scout, if he gets and experience upgrade which one do you recommend?  Lately I choose hills defense because the forest 50% is good enough, but the hills is not so much.

Scout should move to W-NW and afterwards coming to the east widening the circle?

Next turn the boat is done and we start building a 2nd boat.  In five turns (EOT 24 we grow to 3pop and the boat will be done) and  t29 there is a warrior and start the settler. Also BW will be finished. So we can make a chop and in 6 turns the settler can start his way.  In this way I would wait until having the settler to change to Slavery.

For making the 2nd boat I planned a combo of 3 turns of mine tiles and 2 turns of Fish.  In this way we obtain the boat and grow to 3 at the same time.

I usually go for whichever I see more of, hills or forests

Oh, i missed your scouting question. I think those are both valid choices. I usually put a priority on finding good city locations with my scout - however it is also a good benefit to know where your neighbors are so you know where to settle to get most of the land. I think if you think that Elkad is close then we should find his borders? But both of your options have their pluses and their minuses. So this is going to be one of those choices that do not have an easy right answer.

Elkad frontiers appeared at the North West. And an Scout of Miguelito of Bizancio is SE-E of our Scout.  I plan to move NE and going east, nothing interesting is on the west.
The tiles between Elkad and ours will be disputed. I expect to find Miguelito inthe East.

Our city has grown to 2pop and I will work the mine for 3 turns to get the growth and the 2nd boat in 5 turns, at the same time.

Since we met Miguelito, are our EPs all focused in on 1 person? I would stay on Elkad 100% until we get his graphs. It's something I sometimes forget at beginnings of games.

I think we also really want to settle northward to claim at least the corn/fish between us and Elkad. I don't think we need to settle it right away, but putting a city on the grass hill between the fish & corn will be good eventually. Actually, since that grabs 2 food tiles and elephants and we can also work boat the fish right away, maybe that is a good spot to go for with our first settler. It will be a long travel time, though.

I am wondering if it is better for our first city to go 3E of the capital, just because it takes 5t to get to that spot. I will try to sim out some
