I had trouble starting up the save as a player different than Player 0. (As in, I was prompted to choose a civ, and I chose Cairo's, but the game then opened up DaveV's civ, since he was Player 0. I brute-forced a way around this by manually putting the player-order into the order you guys are playing. I emailed Cairo the save before I saw your post, so let's say he won the roll.  Yeah, no idea why I couldn't start with somebody else. (Edit: Cairo, the email will be coming from a "naufragarRB".)
Everybody, please check that you start with the appropriate civics, tech, units, etc.

If we can set up a blitz, that helps a lot with the early turns. We just missed our first weekend, but I could be much more flexible on weekdays for the sake of a blitz. Or we can do it next weekend.

When I try to open the save I get this:
Edit: I also get other windows that say "Could not load initial game data." and "Failed to load setup information!"
