I fully agree that a picture says more, but I also included rule 4 here. You can argue about the intention/wording of rule 4.1, but as long as we have only ingame text on a screenshot (aka GUI, not signs), I have no problem here. (Auro, what's your option here ?).
We can change it for the next game, but I think the Open Diplo is as far a success ?

Well, obviously I'm biased here to give my neutral opinion. But I agree with Dave's point that pictures give way more information than could be written in 280 characters. Especially the ones we've seen here.
But then again xist proposed these "diplo rules" before the game and wrote "hope these are ok". None said anything so I think it's little late to complain now. On the other hand I don't think we ever had a discussion about the rules but rather just agreed to "open diplo" in the setup thread. But yeah, we didn't say a word once xist came up with his suggestions in this thread so by being silent I think we kind of all agreed to the rule "one picture is allowed".

I think it's too late to change now, but after the game we can try and work out refinements to the rules. However, I think it would be simple to portray most/all of the information from the screenshots in text form, even with the word limit, by using abbreviations and shorthand.

As things stand, diplo is basically an anti-Auroarcher co-operation method, so your opinion is the most important one. If you're on the side of more liberally defined diplo, even as it disadvantages you, that seems decisive to me. Good sportsmanship too!
