RBPBEM FfH #1 [SPOILERS] Sareln of the Svartalfar

Dantski Wrote:you can email screenshots if thats allowed this game, make sure to turn off signs and resources on the ones you send though, no need to make it too easy for him right?

Alright, I'll see if Cull gets back to me on that. Resource indicators on is the only map I'd see being useful enough to transmit during border arrangements IMO, which is what we're using this map exchange for. So we'll see what kind of screen-shot he sends us and reciprocate.

I will be letting him know that I intend to black out my capital.

Sent a message to Selrahc regaurding the Kuriotate's scout, can't believe I missed the e-mail when it first came down the pipe:

Quote:Gah, I don't know how I missed this.

Please tell the Kuriotates that pressing matters have forced me to
pull my scout south. If he still desires contact, I hope he will
venture south after passing Letum Frigus. I have encountered the
Khazad, lead by Cull east of Letum Frigus, I have pointed them towards
you and wished them well on their way. Hopefully their scouts survive
the harsh wilderness.

Turn 15:
I'm moving the scout around rather cautiously, bringing them across to the other side of the empire so I can get some scouting in. Due to my tech path not visiting bronze working for a while, it doesn't make much sense for me to scout the Southern Jungle and risk getting killed by a spider or ape.

Being able to scout the shared Dwarf/Elf border though, would be incredibly useful, and determine my initial direction of settling (Towards Selrahc or Cull?).

Selrahc said he had passed on my directions to the Kuriotates, so hopefully we'll be seeing a friendly ratman in not too much time.

Still Transferring the Scout. Stasis turns are somewhat dull.

Turn 17:
Moved the scout east, found the dwarf warrior. He was attacked by barbarians and leveled! He is not fortified just out of capital sight range. The promotion picked was Guerrilla I, so no worries about a combat1+shock1 warrior (+60% versus warriors combined) coming out of the fog at me.

In Fall From Heaven you always keep at least one unit back. Skeleton spotted coming from the Southwest. Hopefully the fortified warrior can hold it off without too much trouble... hopefully.

Moved the scout to the hill above the dwarf. Will get to the watchtower in two turns using a forest square as a safe haven transit point.

If I remember skeleton AI it should just charge my capital. My warrior should have good odds, but there's still a slightly less than 5% odds that my game just outright ends lol. Not like I can do anything other than pull the scout back... debating whether or not I should do that or continue scouting...

Also got in some free diplo with Cull about the skeleton:

Quote:(8:22:22 AM) Sareln: There's a skeleton in the general area of your scout that is near me, but I think it'll just make a beeline at my capital and leave you alone, if I recall the skeleton AI correctly.
(8:22:49 AM) Cull RB: Thanks for the heads up
(8:22:58 AM) Cull RB: Do you want to kill it, or can I?
(8:23:16 AM) Sareln: It just showed up on the diag to my BFC, so I'm guessing you won't even see it...
(8:23:42 AM) Sareln: Really it just indicates that the spawn points are now active
(8:23:51 AM) Sareln: I'd be much more concerned if it was a lizardman :P
(8:24:29 AM) Cull RB: nod
(8:24:42 AM) Cull RB: Thanks for the warning about spawns
(8:25:01 AM) Sareln: no problem, call it public service...

Turn 19:
The Skeleton advanced one tile north on the endstep. I did decide to bring the scout back to act as an additional body. Scouting can happen later, losing ends the game, rather unsurprisingly, no need to shoot myself in the head to a bad die roll. bang

Turn 21:

Stasis is over and done with, w00t jive.

Worker due in 2 turns, and a skeleton at the gates.

Skeleton didn't attack at end of turn, hopefully it does so before the worker pops...

Also, I'm glad I'm not Cull:

Quote:(8:27:48 AM) Cull RB: And I just got two barb warriors and a skeleton
(8:28:18 AM) Sareln: And this be why I threw a minor fit at Selrahc when he popped stasis :D
(8:28:20 AM) Sareln: good luck.
(8:28:37 AM) Sareln: at least you're AGG, so there's some solace there...
(8:28:49 AM) Cull RB: yeah
(8:29:12 AM) Cull RB: Just one more turn set, and its over
(8:29:49 AM) Sareln: yay stasis...
(8:30:11 AM) Cull RB: Felt that Selrahc timing was bad though
(8:30:15 AM) Cull RB: what do you think?
(8:30:39 AM) Sareln: There's a good argument for early stasis as those turns are most valuable
(8:31:24 AM) Sareln: if this was raging barbs, I would have figured out how quickly it would take to get a warrior out on a 2-hammer capital and a plains hill (5 Hammers/turn) and then popped stasis the turn before to hopefully kill someone dead
(8:31:35 AM) Sareln: without the raging barbs, TBH I would've held it for a war or something...
(8:32:08 AM) Cull RB: same
(8:52:03 AM) Cull RB: Decent chance(around 15% chance I believe) I'll be taken out
(8:52:26 AM) Cull RB: Oh well
(8:52:32 AM) Sareln: such is the life...
(8:52:40 AM) Sareln: though always a bummer if the game ends before it even really starts...
(8:52:50 AM) Cull RB: yeah
(8:52:54 AM) Cull RB: ah well
(9:17:00 AM) Cull RB: Lizard man just spawned
(9:18:41 AM) Sareln: is he alone on his spawn point?
(9:18:51 AM) Sareln: he can't move off until another spawns / a barb steps onto his square.
(9:18:52 AM) Cull RB: yep
(9:19:01 AM) Cull RB: oh
(9:19:07 AM) Cull RB: yah!
(9:19:24 AM) Cull RB: I'm facing a 3 barb stack
(9:19:28 AM) Cull RB: with 2 agg warriors
(9:19:59 AM) Cull RB: one skeleton and 2 warriors
(9:21:03 AM) Sareln: that's not so bad...
(9:22:29 AM) Sareln: the skeleton is adjacent, but didn't attack.
(9:22:36 AM) Sareln: I've full bonus, so hopefully on problems...
(9:23:01 AM) Cull RB: just one warrior?
(9:23:12 AM) Cull RB: yeah
(9:23:15 AM) Sareln: I pulled the scout back
(9:23:18 AM) Cull RB: i'm not that bad
(9:23:19 AM) Cull RB: but
(9:23:20 AM) Sareln: didn't feel like losing on 2%
(9:23:26 AM) Cull RB: yeah
(9:23:29 AM) Cull RB: my second warrior
(9:23:38 AM) Cull RB: was made in two turns
(9:23:41 AM) Cull RB: starting last turn
(9:23:46 AM) Sareln: nice
(9:23:52 AM) Sareln: hopefully it'll be enough...
(9:23:57 AM) Cull RB: yep
