Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[PB37 SPOILER] Coeurva, Bacchus -- Cyrus of Carthage

T136

Savant deleted the chariot in Sweet Water, which was probably the best move, because our sword would have picked up the 4th XP at 99.6% odds otherwise and we'd have made progress on the way to the next GG. The only development at Regna was its growth to size9. I've promoted one sword to C1 Shock to reduce his own Shock axe's chances from ~25% to below 20%.

Joey is pouring 26 EP/t into us. Not exaggerating; that's what courthouses do (and I suppose goes to demonstrate what mackoti said earlier about forges). Thus he'll have research vision next turn; we can't do much about that. We've also lost Mongolia's graphs, because they have reacted with a million courthouses of their own (thankfully not aimed at us) which raises our mission costs just enough (due to their higher total) that we need to spend a few more EP. I've switched all EP to them because Savant, for some reason, didn't invest against us (but will switch back once we regain graphs, I want to keep an eye on their power rating).

On to the exciting news: We've found dtay's army.

Your verdict, General?

That little mounted army corps of Yuri's consists of 1 HA, 2 chariots, and one badly-injured chariot. Also Cuckhokia is doomed, but I've gifted our chariot to Yuri anyway, because I checked too late that dtay had not actually played the turn yet... welp. Maybe a knight trips over it

EDIT: And now it occurs to me that this is kind of a double move. Hrgh

But I don't think dtay will complain about free XP anyway.

666 bpt; clearly we are the trvest empire

Research set to Horseback Riding (screenshots lie) at 100%, for two reasons: 1) it allows us to have more units attacking Sorpigal; 2) it might allow us to take Rostov in the south, and probably raze it (not a very good city, but dtay can still make good use of it with the Colossus; we can't), and forces dtay to garrison Cuckhokia, so as to delay his conquest of Yuri further. The overflow is enough to almost finish Compass, which means we can complete Compass eoT137 with copious overflow into Machinery, save gold for 2t/3t, and push towards Optics in a frenzy. Or Guilds, if it turns out that's what we should prefer.

There are several cities that will come out of completing a unit eot, so we can queue up some 6XP NumCav immediately. Stables first are an option in the south, but as stated, I'd prefer to use the north to pump as many units towards Sorpigal as we can before Savant gets to use Slavery again. (We haven't moved there yet -- but will start moving everything in next turn.)

Still undecided on whether we should get OrgRel / Mono (costs 14 gpt, and I'd rather not build so many missionaries while at war with Savant, but then I'm not sure when we'll get the chance for another Golden Age, I somewhat doubt that Taj is in the cards for us).

Ah, and I've employed an artist in Chehalis, that city needs to expand its culture badly. Should have done that last turn already smoke -- I presume that this is an old trick when you're running Caste. Won't do it at Sweet Water, because we're not going to be in Caste once that city leaves revolt.

Not a small stack, all at C2 as expected. Ergh. What can we have in Zodiac next turn? Would kill for Civ6 movement rules. I doubt that he will push straight on, but let's say he attacks this turn, heals the next, moves the one after. Gives us two turns to get some shit into Zodiac. Besides any junk we may have sitting there, we need ~4 Lbows to survive, but only as long as we can bring in another 2-3 the very next turn, as the 4 will die. If we have 5 Lbows, we should be ok, and 6-7 is just solid, until siege arrives on the scene.

Two more Guerilla 2 longbows arrive inside Spire next turn (a road finishes on the hill north-west of it next turn), adding to the two already inside (could also upgrade the one archer). Unless Erwin Rommel is already on the move as a Medic III unit, he'll need more than a turn to heal up his knights fully.

It's possible that dtay doesn't have a lot of siege right now. He has about 90,000 more power than us, which just fits nine knights, and the rest of his stack roughly matches what we have sitting around by Regna in soldier count.

Another reason to get NumCav -- halves travel time from Vermin/Lifeblood to Zodiac Spire, and they'll hold their own against everything but the knights, and can maybe flank dtay's siege if we can get large numbers of them. But yeah, we're on the clock.

Yeah, Joey doesn't see our research this turn yet.

I'm still not sure what to do about the chariot gift. Tell dtay about it (and thus reveal that the chariot is ours, which I'd have wanted to avoid)? Ask Yuri to delete it before dtay plays? I think something must be done.

Is unit gifting banned? If it is, you just shouldn't have done it, and we may need a reload. If it isn't, I don't think there is anything to do.

Ah, I see, double-move issues. And dtay plays before Yuri. Annoying. Well, I guess PM both, ask Yuri to delete, as dtay to wait.

There's no word on it in Krill's initial post in the sign-up thread; only city gifts are explicitly banned.

But it's a double-move, because we've played before dtay this turn and after him last turn, so I assume that this move is as illegal as it would have been for Yuris to make. As long as the chariot just dies, it's probably not even to his detriment, but it's quite ironic that after I've been annoyed at CML's double-moving (although, again, I mistakenly thought it was intentional), I've made the same mistake now.

Reload is probably not needed if Yuri could just log in to delete the chariot instead.

EDIT: Crosspost. Okay, I'll send PMs to both.

Sent this.
Quote:Hi dtay, hi Yuri,

there's a problem: I've gifted one Combat1 Shock chariot to Yuri on this turn (which is now inside Cuckhokia), but failed to realize in time that I've played before dtay now, but after him on T135. Yuri could not have moved that unit like this if it were his own; the move is thus illegal.

dtay should decide what's to be done here. I'd be fine with the chariot being deleted.

Sorry about this.

Then I realized it's probably a bad idea to make everyone else wait, which is going to happen because of the timezones involved, so I sent a follow-up:
Quote:Actually, in the interest of not holding up the game, I think the best solution would be for Yuri to log in before dtay this turn, delete the chariot, and log out again immediately.

Again, sorry about the inconvenience to both of you.

Three hurrahs to fuck-ups. May tomorrow bring some more!

...and now I've taken so long to write those two messages that dtay has already logged in and taken the city off Yuri anyway. lol

Well let's just hope that nothing died fighting that chariot, because if this causes a reload, I'll feel even dumber about it.

Very interesting, looks like Joey piled in and is seizing islands from Yuri to our south. Better than dtay I guess, but still bad for us, especially as we can't take them off him without killing trade routes. Overall it seems we need an alliance with Krill, or Greece and Zulu will run away very quickly.
