[SPOILERS] Gira under Pindicator's surveillance

We encounter El Grillo of Khmer in the continent on the NW besides de cows.  The Scout is between the horses and the wheat and goes SE-S.  In 2 turns Moscow grows to 3 pop and the 2nd boat is on. The worker is making the 2nd mine.

Your idea of the city in the East, will grow very fast and the road can be made to the north.  I am only worried about sharing 3 important resources of the capital.

Scout goes SE, nothing interesting except some panthers.  He will continue Southwards.

We can see the graphs of Elkad and the global situation.  Elkad has a higher graph of Food, but lower on Production. And we are in the low middle situation in relation to other players.   We are the last on Land, which I suppose is the Land uncovered by the Scout.  Next turn we grow to 3 and this graphs will change.  Next production will be a warrior and in 4 turns will grow to 4 and warrior will be done.

Land does not count the water tiles in our borders. We probably have more water than other players, which is why we are last. Don't need to worry about land right now though, it is very early still.

I have been thinking that with all the food we have at our capital it will be better to put our first city 3E of the capital where it can share two food tiles. Once the capital gets to max size it won't need all that food and we can then share it to help the other city grow. I have not done any simulating, so this is a gut feel. That northern spot with the Corn/Fish is very strong but it takes so long to get there.

The Scout is SW of panthers mark, he is healing after defeat the panthers. In 2 o 3 turns will be heal and I think to go E-E.

In Moscow the 2nd boat is on and I put all the tiles to grow in 4 turns, while doing a warrior.  Also in 5 turns BW is finished and we go for Wheels.   We have to think if is worth to whip the settler and chop for 6 turns or get it in 7 without whipping.

Ok, about the situation at the E for the 2nd city.

Okay, that extra border pop is pretty big, since it gives us more sight.

First thought: where is all the food in the east?

Second thought: what about setling a city on top of the Silk? We can pasture the Pig right now and it gets the Wheat and Fish on border expansion. 3 food in one city is very strong.

Wow, I didn't realize that we have a wider view to the West with the border expansion.  I was focused on the East and the Scout.

It's true there is not much food on the East, only in the North-East, but that s likely to be occupied by Elkad.

The city on the Silk it's very interesting.  We could use it to make workers right away, it is very safe against barbars and after we can make settlers in Moscow to the east and N. I'm afraid that if we wait too long for the N city by the Elephants, Elkad will take the land.

That is the one thing I wonder about too. Also, the wheat may not be able to be improved for some time because we don't know if it is on another island or not.

This has me thinking that maybe it's best to settle our first city 3E of the capital. It doesn't claim as many new resources, but it does grab a sheep and it does share 2 for resources with the capital, which is a very fast way to get a 2nd city up and running. Then we can go claim the corn and fish with the next city.

I don't think we should go straight to the corn/ fish spot with our first settler because it is too many turns walking

Scout healing.  Next turn Moscow grows to 4.  Nothing new to show.

About the cities placement:  I've doing some calculations comparing the options of making the 2nd city on the west coast or on East (EEE).  Also I calculated the difference between making a worker or a settler after the 2nd city. Here are the results:






* no big difference in yield between both cities, the election should be in geoestrategic reasons
* great difference between making a worker or a settler after 2nd city: the settler will be done 6 turns before or after
* making a worker before the 3rd settler could advance the road to the north and make the sheep, but there is no rush for the sheep because the 2nd city will take long to grow to 3 (i planned a worker when is 2pop)
* I don’t think Elkad will make a city that conflits with our N-City (see spoiler) he is 8 tiles from our 3rd city. He is likely to settle first between the cows and the horses, but his 3rd city could go south.
 
conclusion:  make East city with 2nd Settler in T36, after make 3rd settler (3rd city in North in T45)

I was thinking about what we would do if Elkad puts his 2nd city 2S of the Sheep. But even if he does, we can still put our Corn/Fish city whenever we want because we are CRE. We will win any early cultural fight.

Only thing would be if he also picked up a religion there, but even then we would be able to hold first ring tiles and since we would be on a hill while he would not be.

And if his city is not 2S of Sheep, wouldn't be better for our city at E of Corn?  In this way we have the grass hill for production.

Another question:  what do you think of the sequence of production for Moscow: 
-  2nd Setter-worker- warrior- 3rd Settler or
-  2nd Setter- 3rd Settler (whiped)- warrior-worker
