Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

New EitB PBEM

Google directs me to a similar error that occurred in (BtS) PBEM 20 here. It looks like either I created the map using a different mod or you're trying to load it with a different one. Both of us have the same version name in the top right of our screens "Erebus in the Balance v12.1" although my loading screen is different. (Mine is that red demon opposite an angel.) So it seems like a mod conflict.

I'll re-download 12.1 (which I got from here). If y'all use a different download link, let me know. If the problem's on my end, we'll also have to get Mack a different version, since he's using mine. Otherwise, Cairo's version is bugging out.

Google tells me there could be other sources of the error, but this seems the most likely.

Oh, ok, so you didn't download EitB 12 from the main thread and then copy the 12.1 files into it?

edit: as far as I can tell, the files in the link in that post are just for the update from 12 to 12.1.

I could've sworn that's the way to do it. (Pseudo-edit: Actually, I'm 99% certain because in the Adventure thread I mention having trouble and needing to do a clean install of 12 first.) But I'm not an experienced EitB'er; anybody else have any thoughts? I'll check back post-download. (Curse my feeble internet.  rant )

So did you download 12 from the main thread then add the files for 12.1? I can try a clean install, although this was a clean install since I've bought a new computer since last playing EitB.

I did.

And then you renamed the mod to "Erebus in the Balance 12.1"? And you still had that dummy folder called "Erebus in the Balance 12" in your mods folder?

Yup. With the solo "Resource" folder within it.

OK, I'll do all that, and see what happens. Maybe I did do something wrong in my installation.

Well, I did all that and the same thing happens, so I don't know what the issue is. Can you send me the version of the mod that you're using and sent to mack? Maybe I can use that.

edit: when you copied the stuff over from the "12.1 FIXED" file did you overwrite the conflicting files?

Could've sworn. However. After I reinstalled, I tried to open the save I sent you and got the same errors. Hopefully this means my mod install was the problem, and it's now fixed. I sent you a new save. If you can open this, then this should be fixed. Unfortunately, if it was my install, we'll have to figure out how to get Mack the correct version.
