I haven't explored their side of the tower past the immediate 1 tile range (I will be soon).

On my side there are two towers, 2 nodes, 2 cities, and about.. 30 tiles (one available poor desert settling spot) I've only very recently cleared one node and the other still is neutral.

Still seeing a lot of unsettled spots on Arcanus, despite there being two wizards there. (2.72) Not enough exploring done yet. Fair land size. Interestingly, they HAVE already colonized multiple 1 tile islands.

There was a war you weren't involved in then? yes? They settled all the safe spots while they fought off another opponent that was weaker than them? that was on that same continent? Either that or a bug?

No idea, one of them is ruthless, so I could see them having a war before we met, which could explain why one of them is so much ridiculously stronger.

Worst example is Reds home continent is filled, then theres another island seperated by 1 square of water, enough room for 4-6 cities, and there's only 1 city on it (which is fairly decent sized). As far as I can tell Blue never had a presence on that island.

It's the bug mentioned in the other thread. Red cannot send settlers by ships there because he already has a city on the continent, but he might not producing new settlers in that city. Blue cannot send settlers as well because he sees enemy cities and units there.

Any thoughts as to why the AI neve came through the tower in my game? Maybe something about lawful too close to my cities? I still feel like they should have garrisoned it.

As soon as he declared war the next turn a 9 stack was in the tower. (Don't know if that's a garrison or attacking a city in Myrror.)

If the AI was garrisoning the tower, it would be unable to go through it because their own units would block the way.
I assume they have better things to attack on the other side, unless they are actually from your plane and you just happened to see them in the tower first, in which case they have no business coming back through it.

No, after the tower got cleared, as far as i can tell, they never sent units to the tile with the tower until they declared war with me (so about.. 2.5-4 years?)

Hum. Maybe I'm overthinking things. Since we were never at war, and I had cities and military on the Myrror side, maybe the continent on my side was just never s valid target? The node I cleared was great drakes and the node I can't handle is great wyrms, so the AI didn't think it was Worthwhile?

If the continent is more than 10 tiles large, then they should be able to go for it even if you aren't an enemy.
Did you ever see what is on the other side? Does the AI even have large stack there that could be sent into the tower? Was it a continent where there was nothing else they could attack with those stacks? If they share a continent with an enemy wizard the units will most likely attack each other instead of going into the tower.
