Nice. Now relocate Moai to it .
Hehe, I like your thinking
Sadly I don't think it'd be worth getting my current Moai razed for the benefits here.
I might still decide to get a quay though for moneybag waters.

Ask the tech thread, please. More likely to bother one of Taotao's opponents than to bother him.
Yeah, in general I wouldn't mind you having a look, but right now I'd actually prefer if you didn't log in. At least not until I'm at peace with Donovan. I might attack, I might not, but considering you were running most of the show when we last conquered Donovan it might be seen as a threat if you logged in now. Or as if we're taunting him. The situation could get particularly delicate if we come to an agreement where Donovan pays me for a 10t peace treaty.
Then there's also the point of you being very publicly spoiled in this game. Occasionally we've had spoiled players making (re)appearances, but the game would be a farce if a team could have someone dropping out every now and then to see how other people are doing and what they're thinking and later come back and apply that knowledge.
I know that this is not what you're proposing, but that's how it theoretically could be perceived.
So yeah, go ahead and ask in the tech thread if you please, but I'd hold off for a few turns until the dust with DZ has settled somewhat.

Any chance we could get an updated tech situation?

You might be better off deducing what techs everybody has from that screen as it's not really my best area or a thing I'm terribly interested in at the moment [though me now thinking that dtay might have assembly line (while I've only spotted muskets/knights as far as troops go) surely makes "Temptation Island" slightly less tempting].
However, I'll do a rundown that may or may not be correct:
ReallyEvilMuffin
Up: Biology, Democracy, Fascism
Down: -
Gavagai

Down: SciMeth, Physics, Electricity, AssLine, Steel, Railroad, Economics
Dtay
Up: Theocracy

Borsche

Plako
Up: Theocracy

I guess one of the big questions one might ask oneself after seeing this is: Why on earth hasn't REM conquered plako yet?
It's possible they've been friends since NylesStandish days, and of course I've done my best (in later years) to keep some pressure from my side, but that's quite a divide in technology...
Actually, personally I've silently been hoping for a long time that plako could at least reach kanones before REM would drop the hammer, but I wouldn't really be surprised if REM had his own plans for our 10t treaty...
As for my own technological future, the plan goes something like
Industrialism->Combustion->Democracy->Radio->Plastics->Computers.
I'd love to slot in Biology somewhere, but I'm not sure I'll afford it just now.
If REM picks up flight I might also have to go that route

Realised that I haven’t shown you the result of the great person lottery two turns back
It’s a merchant.
At 15% that was by far the worst possible outcome.
I actually had started looking at whether it’d be possible to launch a 5-man GA at the end and I believe I came to the conclusion that 8 more great people after this one wouldn’t be impossible. At least not with a bit of Pacifism/caste in a 4-man GA. However, being sure to get the right kind of GPs would be a real issue, possibly even impossible to guarantee. Getting a Merchant here has firmed up the decision that there’s no point trying for a 6th GA and I’m actually dreading some of the upcoming rolls. As a closer look would confirm, I’ve got merchant pollution in just about every city and I might need to do something highly unoptimal like starving food-poor, but town-rich Cuzco to be sure of getting the 3rd GP (I believe I’ll manage to get the fourth type from NE-city Palva).
Hopefully it won’t come to anything like that and I’ll start with getting an artist in Sandöström, but there’s definitely more chances of mishaps than I’d prefer.
Btw, if you look at the screenshot above you’ll notice that I’ve queued up Wall Street in Sandöström. It’s late for that wonder, but plan has been that I would put WS in cottage-heaven Jutas. I just realized though that even with a factory it’ll take a tad long to build WS there. And then there’s also the issue of my slider probably being quite high towards the end game. Better then to build the wonder in a city that can run lots of Merchant specialists.
What to do with the merchant is another issue. Might be that I would’ve been best off bulbing Industrialisation with it last turn. As that would probably have sped up Battleships by 1t it could’ve been well worth it. Sadly the next thing the GM will bulb (until the end of time) is Fascism, and I hope I won’t get enough war weariness that I’ll ever need that tech…
If I get another I’ll then have the option of settling for food someplace like Alavo, settling for commerce in Sandöström or doing a trade mission. The trade mission would probably be best of those, but I can’t say I’d look forward to trying ferrying him long distances and avoiding Pirates…
WAR
Well, no cities have changed hands yet. With some luck I’ll take or raze 3 cities next turn though and I crossed the borders for the first time this turn.
I believe I made a mistake though.
Originally I had planned to only cross borders this turn with the 1-movers. That would leave them slightly exposed to counter, but that would’ve also been the point sort of. DZ could attack, but I’d have enough cavs to clean up afterwards. If he decided to defend in Zinaar I’d have cannons to deal collateral. My reasoning for moving in 2-movers was that I wanted to make sure I’d have enough units to hit Voidcaller as well, but now I might’ve just spooked him into either withdrawing completely or stacking everything in Darnassus (which might be enough to delay capture with 1t or give me a lot more unfavourable odds).
Plan for now is to take these 3 cities and then seek peace so that I can have most of these troops on the islands when the peace treaty with REM expires. If Donovan doesn’t accept peace straight away I’ll just have to keep pressing for more cities until he does.
I should mention though that he did offer me 10t peace and 75gpt this last turn.
I should also mention that I really appreciated the offer and hesitated before declining. If I can offer REM peace for 40gpt, surely 75gpt from DZ would be fair?
In a way yes. At this point though it’s not about slapping DZ on the wrist for earlier actions, it’s about making my borders more secure, letting older cities concentrate on their commerce potential and, if there’s easy profitable conquest, then adding that as a side dish.

Tough luck about the Merchant... is there any possibility to trade mission him, or is that too risky/non-lucrative?
good luck on the war!

Trade mission is a possibility.
A cash injection just before some tech goal (like computers/fusion or last spaceship techs) could be of real help.
I believe huge map size means I need to move him quite far to get a decent return though. And I don't really have a good target city. REM is obviously out, DZ the same. If Gav still has a shot at winning he's out as well. Dtay probably wouldn't be happy about it and most decent cities require long distances on land. Perhaps if he grows one of the temptation island cities? Plako and Barteq (who otherwise might be best) are kind of tricky to reach. Barteq also turned down an ivory trade of mine the other turn so might feel that he shouldn't help any of the leaders, and I don't want to risk him closing his trade routes...
If Adrien still had his cap that might've been the best place, but now? Might be that I'd have to settle for one of the bigger Borsche coastal cities. If I chain the merchant most of the way and cover my EI with a couple of battleships on the last turn that might be where I should go?
I did want to check how much money I'd get before replying here, but for some reason the shift-clicking didn't seem to work when I had a peek at lunch.
International news
GG Boak.
Yes, boak left some turns ago, but Gav only got around to eliminating the AIs last city this turn.
I'm really grateful for the job Boak has done. When Krill disappeared (due to excessive workloads I believe?), China was one of the biggest powers in the game. It wasn't an easy situation though with an elongated empire (heard that one before? ) and lots of newly conquered land from the wannabe. It didn't take many turns either before Gav hit him in the back. Hak didn't follow far behind. And I believe at least one from Adrien or Barteq also followed suit. Since then almost every turn of boaks has been a war turn, often against several nations at once, but he clung on for as long as he could. One of the reasons Gav is still so far behind technologically is surely that he never received much for free from Boak. So thank you!
REM has entered his third Golden Age!
When I saw that he researched theology I thought he just might soon, but it was still slightly earlier than I expected. I had known that he must have a GSpy and GS on ice, but that he still had a GM was slightly more surprising.
Overall I'm okay with this.
I expect him to launch a 4-gp-GA at the end, but I doubt he'll be much better at generating the five-man than I am. Which means I'll have 4 more turns of GA in the end if we time them perfectly (which I'm not sure I'll manage).
I'd always be in danger when he's got a GA and I haven't, but now I still have a couple more turns left of my own, so I'm hoping he won't turn the power balance totally upside down at least.
I'm also guessing theology means he's about to drop Free Religion for a while and he'll pump out some 3-promo steel ships (drydocks+vassalage+theocracy+pentagon). If I'm unlucky he'll add a few commandoes from somewhere.
Pretty scary if so, but at least I'm forcing him to react and abandon his research capacity...
...
Right?
With REM in a Golden age I had a quick look at the demo screen. I'm still ahead in all of GNP, Food and Production!
Of course, I believe I get a bigger benefit from a GA-turn than REM, but looking back 20t this is still a great result
Gavagai and Dtay have made peace.
If I wasn't in a hot war I'd have some airships scouting the aftermath, but now I can't say that much.
I believe the whole conflict basically took place on the lovely island between dtay and gav. Initially Gav had the better units on the scene and took/razed at least seven cities. Later on though dtay seems to have been able to ferry over enough troops to at least raze four of the cities Gav took. Settler race incoming?? All in all a war without any real winners between the two that both probably lost some of their remaining chances for the game.
Funny coincidence is that this very turn Gav moved up a galleon (that with nav-2 would be) within reach of 3 of my Replot cities. I don't believe he's got any hostile intentions, but I'm not particularly fond of the timing either...
Donovan.
Didn't move anything (apart from his gg-healer) in the south last turn and it looks like I should be able to take the three cities I want. Hopefully will run a sim still to decide where to use my 11 airships, but not sure I'll have time, so will probably wing it. Also need to decide whether to keep or raze/resettle. The cities aren't particularly rich in infra, but still granaries, pop and courthouse in Darnassus could all be useful. He did move up a cav- and a rifle-stack a bit further back, but nothing that should be able to hit my units next turn, so I should have some time to regroup...

Well, probably will be quite busy this weekend and didn’t really have time for any simming, so decided to just wing it. In a way that also has a more “real” feel to it than meticulously calculating the optimal path.
Battle of Zinaar
As I’ve got 4 cannons here, I decide that I’m better off saving my airships for other cities.
To start off I bombard down defenses to 30% with one cannon. Then:
CR1 Cannon vs CG3 redcoat (0,7%) … LOSS (4hits!)
B2 Cannon vs inj CG3 redcoat (1,7%)… LOSS (1hit)
CR2 Cannon vs inj CG3 redcoat (11,1%)… LOSS (3hits)
Pinch Inf vs inj CG2 redcoat (83,9%)… WIN (4hits)
C2 pinch Cavalry vs inj CG3 redcoat (83,1%)… Flawless WIN
C3 Cavalry vs inj redcoat (69,8%)… LOSS (3hits)
C3 Cavalry vs inj CG3 redcoat (88,4%)… WIN (1hit)
knight vs inj redcoat (99,9%)… darn stacked units...
Cavalry vs inj redcoat (99,9%)…Flawless WIN and Zinaar is mine!
Hmm, granary was lost, but the forge survived. And 7 pop. I feel rather confident about the English war at the moment, so I’m going to keep the city.
Battle of Voidcaller
Send in 3 airships
pinch Cavalry vs (11,2/14) CG3 redcoat (6,7/28%)…LOSS (3hits)
pinch Cavalry vs (12,2/14) CG2 redcoat (7,8/27,7%)…WIN! (3hits)
1 airship bombard
pinch Cavalry vs (12/14) redcoat (27/21,9%)… Withdraw (1hit)
pinch Cavalry vs (9,7/14) redcoat (65,6/10,3%)… WIN (3hits)
C3 Cavalry vs (5,3/14) CG3 redcoat (86,5/4,1%)… WIN and Voidcaller is mine!
Sadly no buildings survive capture and after some consideration I decide to burn the city. I might still plant a city in the same spot (to stop DZ from planting one 1N), but will take a wee break to think it through.
Battle of Darnassus
Send in 7 airships
pinch Cavalry vs (11,2/14) CG3 redcoat (6,7/28%)… LOSS (4hits!)
pinch Cavalry vs (11,2/14) CG3 redcoat (6,7/28%)… LOSS (2hits)
pinch Cavalry vs (11,2/14) CG2 redcoat (9,8/27,1%)… LOSS (4hits)
pinch Cavalry vs (12,2/14) CG1 redcoat (18,4/24,5%)… LOSS (2hits)
pinch Cavalry vs (7,3/14) CG3 redcoat (57/12,9%)… WIN (1hit)
pinch Cavalry vs (7,7/14) CG1 redcoat (68,3/9,5%)…Flawless WIN
C2 Cavalry vs (3,4/14) CG3 redcoat (97,9/0,6%)… WIN (2hits)
C1 Cavalry vs (2,8/14) CG2 redcoat (98,9/0,3%)… Flawless WIN
C1 knight vs B1 cat (99,4%)… WIN (1hit)
C1 knight vs B1 cat (99,4%)…WIN (5hits)
Sentry knight vs B1 cat (99,1%)… WIN (3hits)
C1 Cavalry vs B1 cat (99,9%)… WIN and Darnassus is mine
Finally some infra ! Since I kept Zinaar there’s no point in razing this city. Kept!
Clean up of Donovans southern stack (1N of Darnassus)
Naught-to-see vs injured Lucky Cavalries (88,8%)… WIN (1hit)
C3 Form Cav vs inj C2 Cav (88,8%)… WIN (2hits)
C3 Form Cav vs inj C1 Cav (95,4%)… WIN (2hits)
C2 Form Cav vs inj C1 Cav (89,2%)… Flawless WIN
C3 Cavalry vs Sentry knight (99%)… Flawless WIN
C1 Cavalry vs knight (96%)… WIN (2hits)
C1 Cavalry vs knight (96%)…WIN (6hits!)
C1 Cavalry vs knight (96%)…WIN (3hits)
Cavalry vs (2/5) catapult (99,9%)… WIN
Leaving the border region looking something like this:
So, altogether I lost something like 3 cannons and 5 cavalries while I killed 11 redcoats, 4 cavalry and some cheaper units. Not a particularly bad trade. Especially since I also gained two cities and have a much nicer border region. Of course, I’m not sure of the diplomatic outcome. If white peace had given me a vassal/Switzerland in DZ while this leads to perma-war, then this probably wasn’t worth it. But then, I doubt I would’ve fully trusted DZ anyhow. And if I settle for these 3 cities and don’t demand provoking compensation, perhaps we could still salvage a state where DZ is annoyed, but respectful?
After this I started moving around troops and microing cities. Will offer DZ a peace treaty before finishing turn, but that is yet to happen as I was disconnected from the pitboss and tired enough that I’ll have to finish the turn today.
I’ll give you one screenshot from domestic matters though.
I didn’t think I’d have any shot at this wonder as REM discovered Electricity way ahead of me. When he finished SoL one turn ahead of my own Electricity eta and wasn’t in a GA while I was, I decided to give it a go though. It’s not the greatest of wonders, but provided I get it (still possibly a coinflip I’ll lose) I’m hoping that it’ll give me some trade bait for the market luxes I’m about to obsolete.

Thank you, so far it's been a pretty successful tiny war
It might be that the infra looks better than it is. The lighthouse and quay won't see much use unless I keep on conquering towards the north. However, granary and forge alone represents 180h that I wouldn't get any bonus on and that will make it productive a lot quicker so I'm very happy.
I wonder if DZ will take peace?
White peace is a terrific offer from me, so he should, but will he? I'm guessing he hasn't accepted immediately as he'd want to look around at what happened last turn, but he should send the offer back.
If he does, then I believe I'll gift him some resources as a sign that I've taken what I needed and am now ready for a prolonged period of peace.
Which I am.
If I take a city from DZ I have to ask myself the question if the turns left after the revolt will be productive enough to motivate my losses and opportunity risks in taking it. If I on the other hand take a city from REM, the losses he has in production and economic capacity can offset a fairly large investment on my part.
That said, if DZ slacks off too much on his military, then e.g. tanks and bombers could make for quite cheap conquests...
In any case I see that DZ whipped 4 times this turn. That doesn't have to mean anything, but probably increases the risks slightly of him not granting any peace.
About turn pace.
It's terrible.
It has now gone 5 days since the turn last rolled. Actually, REM (who's the last to play) is now logged in so I guess we'll see a new turn today, but that doesn't really change the fact. Part of the reason is probably that REM is stretched over more games than he can handle in what he considers a competitive way, but he's not the only one to blame as for instance Borsche, dtay and I guess myself (even if I haven't been the last to play) have all taken our time to play lately. Someone should probably speak up about this, but I don't feel like it can be me at the moment as I just arranged for an extended weekend away where I once again will be without civ access...
Had this been earlier in the game I would've tried to get a sub, but with current turn pace I don't feel like handicapping myself when others aren't. Heck, I might not even hold the game up at all if the turns roll favourably.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying that anyone that has subbed for me has played worse than I would. Generally everything's been in fine order when I've come back. It's, however, impossible to lay down all thoughts about how every city should specialise it's production, how every worker should move to be in the most useful area, how ships should balance ferrying settlers to new islands and armies in other directions etc. etc. and even if these things are done perfectly with the information at hand, it might not be in the way I later want to use units (so basically me messing up the wonderful work by subs).
Perhaps most importantly though it favours inaction.
If I know that I'll be away for a few turns I'm much more inclined to not declare war and not move units threateningly. Whenever you choose to do such a thing you're taking a risk and having spent what? 250h in game? more outside thinking about it? you get quite attached to your civ and kind of want that any bone-headed mistakes will be your own and not some other guy you just have seen writing a few sentences on a website...
