[PB60] Lazteuq and Civac

Earth is a flat disk carried by elephants. Why elephants? We can't see them so they must be below ground. Obvious.

Also, you are last to play in PB59, Miguelito. nono

It all adds up. Tarkeel is a mischievous Omniscient Creator, but we see through his deception!
Charriu, I meant that I don't trust the world actually being as narrow as the screenshot shows. But who knows, maybe the flat disk is elliptical, not circular. I look forward to our scout finding uneven curvature in the Great Ice Wall.
Good think CtH makes war elephants buildable with iron.

Don't forget to whip the settler this turn. tongue

The big news: We got stonehenge!
We're still discussing what to do next, especially what the capitol should work on. Animal Husbandry is still 8-ish turns from completion.

Also Civac told me about the globe view culture trick. With it, we saw GKC's Roman borders in the fog. So I sent the scout back to make contact with him.

Work boat for the clam city will be done next turn. We've decided city 3 will go next to the capitol's deer. It feels bad to steal the capitol's food when it's already lacking, but the capitol can stagnate at size 4 working riverside mines, which is pretty good since we're Imperialistic. Also mine-based settler production doesn't need a granary. Without a granary, whipping isn't that much better than mines in my opinion.
Once we have more workers, we'll settle the floodplain area.
Holkans don't require copper, so we can actually build them already! I don't see much reason to though. Capitols are far enough apart that I don't expect super-early conflict.

Sorry for the curt instructions ingame. mischief I amuse myself by making very detailed and finicky micro plans for these games. If you do not want to follow mine that's fine though I do think it would be a good idea to follow the gist of it. This start is tricky and there are a bunch of lines which are just bad.

I can make the spreadsheet available in some form if you want. Otherwise we should discuss the general lines. Maybe you have your own preferences.

Don't worry, the in-game signs are a good idea. They're almost idiot-proof. I'm happy to follow your microplans.
Can you put the spreadsheet in google sheets?
AH is still 2 turns away. Do you think worker 2 should finish the grass hill mine, or interrupt that to pasture the cow?

Our #1 GNP is inflated by stonehenge culture.
Someone got Buddhism this turn. Mjmd I guess.
I realized its been a while since we posted a map screenshot, I'll do that next turn.

Put one turn into the grasland mine (cancel worker action) then pasture the cow. The first worker goes south to chop once the plains hill mine is done.

Edit: I cancelled the worker making the grasland mine. Next turn the capital is size 3 and can build a settler in 6 turns. Switch to the cow once it's done.

OK, thanks. I was thinking to chop the flat grassland instead of the grass hill, because it opens up faster movement for a settler later on. I guess maybe it doesn't matter though since we'll probably chop both those forests soon.

At this point I've sent the warrior in the south so far that I think it is more valuable as a potential threat than bringing him back as defense. If we can force out some defensive warrior builds, that would be great. I don't really want to actually declare any wars, just cause a little disruption.

Yeah, I agree with everything. For the chops in the south you can do either. They will both be done in time to allow for the faster settler movement. Good thinking though. tongue

Do you need an account for google spreadsheats? I don't think I've got one of those.

What is your opinion on a getting a religion? It would not be totally insane to go for one now. Merely somewhat insane. For one thing, all of our cities will be connected without roads and we don't need a granary in the capital (or even in the second city). Still, I'd prefer going for Pottery now and then take the Monotheism religion. If that is taken we can bulb Theology in turn 82. Would need to make a second Prophet I guess.
