When do we start a settler?
Can we move the warrior west to explore before bringing back?

Settler is out T44 after a chop and a double-whip.
Unsure on where to settle. A city on the plains hill could start working the sheep tile from the beginning, so that's nice. But settling further north would get us closer to the good city spots. My instincts say go north, but following the meta of settling close and sharing tiles goes against that. We're growing to Size 5 so warrior is needed for the happiness boost. Scout has been healing for a long time, but is moving finally. He's at 4 XP!
That area we could scout yeah. It's worth it to check for a sea resource. Good call
![]() Now I realize Q probably meant the same thing. Azza I'm PM'ing you the password in case you ever want to take a look around.
While we wait for the game to go back up, I have a question!
What is the meta for AI-diplo games, especially the diplomacy side of things? I've gotten dogpiled in both of my previous AI-diplo games, so maybe there's something I'm missing. I know in PB9 there was a bunch of strange 1 gold trades, as well as same resource for same resource trades, which might have been used to show allegiance or something.
Resource for resource trades generally just convey good intentions, while 1g for x trades generally try to convey a message (like horses+iron means knights).
I don't know how to stop dogpiles (as may be evident ) but I tend to send out a mass of resource for resource trades.

Let's keep that in mind then. It's a bit annoying that players do this, because the reason for disabling diplomacy is to reduce the time spent on the game. Deciphering ambiguous signs sounds like a lot more work than just regular diplomacy. Not to mention it's a lot less fun. Oh well, we'll live with it.
![]() Warrior took it's trek and found nothing but bright blue sea. I had him walk all the way to the edge of the island. I'll post a full map when the scout is done with the last part, then we can start dotmapping this bitch. |
