Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] The Ministry of Truth. A factual account of Thoth's PBEM 50

Yah, but Serdoa is in the process of taking a large dump in my cherios.

His chariot found my indefensable Cows. frown

On the plus side, I've parked a Spear and a Chariot on the chokepoint forest with Kyan (which got rid of his warrior without having to fire a shot wink ) so I have the inside track to nailing down that chokepoint.

Also:

With a high enough maximum food surplus, the amount of food currently in the food bar is irrelevant for determining when the optimal completion time for a granary is. (with one exception: Granary completion and growth happen on the same turn)

A granary stores all surplus food up to a maximum of 1/2 the food needed to grow.

Thanks for not pillaging my cows Serdoa. smile

That frees up my chariot to go and try and annoy Seven instead. party

Capital is starting to look shiney:

I can either 3t Colossus or 3t a settler.

If I 3t the Colossus and then 2pop whip a settler I can 1t a Lighthouse in the capital the following turn. (assuming my Sunday morning over coffee and smokes in the garden calculations are correct. wink )

The ability to build 3t settlers in my capital without whipping gives me a nice warm happy feeling.

Toroidal maintenance costs make me feel inadequate about the size of my manhood mean that I need to build something really, really, really big as compensation build the Colossus to help finance reckless expansion.

So it's settler for the rice (done t50) then Colossus (t53).....then other stuff. Prolly workers and settlers but Lighthouse and Lib (5t total) once I up my happy cap a bit are also nice. 1st GP due eot 56 (I think). Most likely Great Prophet with a decent (30ish%) shot at a GE and an outside chance at a Great Merchant. Any of the above are just fine TYVM.

I declined visibility on Seven's city in favour of pillaging the farm and fading back into the fog. If I'd stepped up to the city for a look and a shot at a potential raze I'd have exposed the chariot to a potential spear + 2 Combat worker counter attack. I know Seven has at least one worker and a warrior in the area and he's almost certainly got a spear.

Pillaging the farm sets him back a bit (and gave me 5g which I needed to finish up Monotheism) and keeps my chariot on the board for possible future shenanigans.
