Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Bacchus and Archduke serve a mouthful of Pecorino Romano

Reached 25 faith, all the good non-faith pantheons are taken: God of the Open Sky, Divine Spark, God of the Forge. This means there is an abundance of religious city states on the map, as we are Rome for god's sakes, and we are second to last to pick a pantheon. Lady of the Reeds is probably the best, for an immediate +2 cogs in the capital. It won't really grow to anything though, there is another floodplains in the tiles we'll work and that's about it. There is a marsh in Proxy Hatch, but it's about to be laid over with an encampment. Still, the Lady speeds up our settler by a turn, so I decide to go for it. Second settler out on T37, which is not bad I think.

Adopted Colonization, culture being dumped a bit into Drama and Poetry. Forgot to check score and great people.

Still, 2 cogs which are going to be there for a longtime.

Shame that there are no more floodplains.

God of Harvest?

Yeah, I thought about the harvest, but where would we put the faith -- some patronage only. Could be good for a GG, I guess, but getting an encampment up earlier is also good.

I am sceptic on city patron goddess. You mostly chop out those districts anyway after 2-3 cities.

I should clarify, I did already go for the Lady of the Reeds. City Patron Goddess is trash, a simple calculation shows that it wouldn't match even 2 cogs per turn. And yeah, it's really hurt by the much better multipliers on units, ships, walls and even builders, which you would always use for chopping

So much iron.

In a masterstroke of godawful game-design, you can't place a district on a marsh before you have irrigation. Even though you don't get any yield from overbuilding that marsh.

Trader got plundered by a scout who has made his way from god knows where right into the middle of built-up territory, bypassing lakes, city-states and everything.

No camp in sight for miles...

Settler out though, builder soon to follow, archer upgraded for escort duty.

West jungle, for the second campus site and somewhat better production potential than the truffles.

Sounds like you prioritize an easy backfill over a nice, easy improveable truffle site which can serve as a springpoint to conquer the CS next to it. Not sure why.
