Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

I'll defer to the players, but I had originally set to 28 after someone had requested it extended before someone else extended to 34. I get the frustration of delayed turns and agree turns tend to fit limit given to them. I also know from playing large games that things get more complicated later. There is what should be a 3 way split going on, so setting back down to 28 hours with how late in the game this is already seems like a reasonable middle ground? Up to you all.

I did message Hubabl on realms just in case he has email notifications set up.

Usually the three way part of the split has worked out just fine, as long as the turn rolls around the same time (I don't know how stressful it is for the other parties involved). 28 hrs and even 24 nominal carries the problem of shifting turn roll times, so every now and then you get a ~48 hr turn due to turn splits. 22 is ideal, and of course grant extensions liberally (I hereby volunteer if there's a lack).

I'll also PM Hubabl on Civforum.

Less is better. Metal never plays unless there's 2 hours on the clock, so this might signal to him to play sometime today.

Edit: Unless it wasn't clear, there are EIGHTEEN HOURS ON THE CLOCK NOW. Turn rolled 24 hours ago. There's something very off.

I am still willing to pilot his civ into the grave expediently, but this requires one of two options.

1) Someone reaching out to him and tell him "PYFT or send your password" (politely)

2) Nuclear option: reset his password via PBSpy admin tools and give me a new password

My general recommendation is to press for a bit on #1, and #2 can be a fallback if there's no progress.

I can just end his turn if he doesnt play.

Anyone recall if his civ is relevant in any sense of the word?

If a lurker decides so. I can end his turn until we see a complaint/ect

"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

I would rather reset his password and give it over to Scooter then end via pbspy. At least something gets done in his empire then.

I second Scooter taking over rather than just ending turn

I’d like to hold off on enlisting the scooter option for metal/hubabi just yet. I’ve noticed sporadic signs of life from Korea and feel it’s by no means a dead civ at this point.

I’d say the same for the gameplay aspect as well. I checked PBSpy and metal has “only” missed 3 of the last 20 turns. And while his turn lag has been frustrating and less than ideal, I’d like to join the “wait and see” camp as I don’t believe this alone should qualify for adding a new perspective to the region at this time. And I say this as a former aggressor who stands a chance to benefit from the switch.

I’m grateful to scooter for agreeing to pitch in and am willing to get on board if two consecutive turns are missed.

Just remember that the pitboss timer runs slightly slow, so a 20h timer takes 24h to actually pass. With active splits being the norm, I prefer to have the timer on 24h just so you're not fighting your own end-of-turn timer last turn.

fwiw, metal/Hubabl responded to my Civforum PM; I guess he gets an email notification. I can send these reminders again should it be necessary.
