One thing to consider is to hold on to the great engineer and try to secure the Kremlin. That is a very strong wonder, and Darrell will likely get to Communism before us.

Our next great person will come from Trading Post in 7 turns and has a ~25% chance of being a great engineer.

I would think so if we decide to research Biology first, since Darrell already has Liberalism, which is a prerequisite for Communism.

Maybe we could do some sort of deal with Darrell, and secure one of the first-to bonuses for ourselves, or a non-compete on Kremlin.

Yes, that's definitely an option. I would hate not to research Chemistry before Scientific Method, though, to get the extra discount on SciMeth.

I put all our EPs on Rego this turn because we have been close to research visibility there for ages. Next turn we can put all our EP on Darrell, maybe we can get research visibility on him by the time we have researched Scientific Method.

T111 played. Darrell completed Communism in 1 turn, having just completed Scientific Method in 1 turn. My guess is he had a lot of overflow from cheaper techs and used a great scientist to bulb into Scientific Method.

I presume physics is next for him, and he'll probably adopt State Property while he's still in a golden age (2t left).

Since we're still 5-6 turns from communism even if we beelined it, I used the great engineer to rush Notre Dame in Investment. I'm running max tax this turn and getting meditation. Next turn Oxford has completed and we can go back to max sci and probably get Chemistry in 1.
