Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] PBEM 8 - WarriorKnight's Spoiler Thread

Seems that an attack isn't going to be likely anymore. Ah well, just have to wait for the medieval era now.

Ad hoc managed to steal one of my workers because I didn't think he could get Wood II off the bat. smoke In hindsight those units (a Dog and a spear) had already won a battle to begin with anyway. Fortunately some HA's managed to clean that up quickly.

Over at Serdoa, a Longbow managed to kill my sentry Quechua but I finished it off with a HA and got a GG. I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with it right now but a medic III unit seems most likely.

Well, I've finally made contact with meatbalz. It's just a shame that I didn't load anything onto my scouting galley so I'll just have to keep passing through.

Just been sent on T73. I got MC 3 turns ago, have 4 forges built as of this turn and I should be getting currency, colossus and circumnavigation next turn. Then I'll see if I can launch a naval invasion on StM's island colony. devil

I doubt I'll be able to take it, but I think I'm the only one with triremes so I can make an blockade at least. It might actually be enough for me to post some screenshots since right now I'm only playing builder.

Got both circum and Colossus. jive

And the demogs this turn:

My circum galley also found out that rego has settled really close to AH. I guess he's more crippled than I thought. I would like to attack him sometime in the not too distant future but Cataphracts and a naval attack on India are probably more important things to worry about.

You're anticipating a naval attack by India, or you're preparing for a naval attack on India?

Neither really. I'm just going to focus on naval defenses since I haven't really been doing so and if an opportunity arises for an attack (which I doubt but you never know) then I'll take it. StM could be planning to attack me but I'm not overly paranoid about it since i have circum and triremes.

I take it you haven't been able to take out Antioch?

Nah, it was more of a pipe dream then a serious plan thanks to those Longbows of his. Serdoa has 2 of them in there and who knows what behind the city. I can't 1 move the city without Engineering, so I'm delaying any serious thoughts about attacking until then.

The ad hoc front is worse, mainly because I don't have 2 wonders in my front city pushing culture and we don't have cities 4 tiles apart. The stalemate on my land fronts is why I have most of my attention focused on the naval front with StM right now.

I sidetracked and got IW this turn, revealing some Iron in the jungle centre for everyone and some on the outer islands. It may force me to settle the middle, although I already have it in my borders

Behold my latest secret weapon.

6 move galley FTW

I decided my GG would better serve as a 6 move galley rather than a medic III unit. The max that anyone else can move is 2 (except Serdoa, who is the only other person with a GG and could have done the same thing) so along with circum and triremes, I should be able to dominate the seas.

I've already seen that Agra, StM's coastal city, only has a single spear inside but one of my regular galley's can do that. Instead I'll see if I can raze something else that I can reach.

Things will be getting interesting very soon. jive
