Football Manager 2010 SG talk

@Twinkletoes, yes it does.

@Sciz, you should see how few stars I get with FM2010. I don't think they got the system fully going yet.

OK I'll set up a game with Wimbledon, manager Rex Bannor (unless ye have a cooler name). He'll be English automatic level, and default age.

There'll be no need for me to put up a new save, as ye can all set up ye're own managers from here.

I'll post player ratings, club budgets, staff and recommended team.

Isn't it Rex Banner?

I still prefer Ron Burgundy though...

I have included a number of screenshots in the zipped file for ease of use for the management committee.

Ok this is the moment you have all been waiting for the unveiling of our new manager, the man that is going to lead Wimbledon back to the promised land and glory,

Yes he's the man with the midas touch, the silver tongue and the one right answer for every formation. He can charm the greatest footballers to the club for a song, he can influence referees with the raise of an eyebrow and he can triple our gates just by waking up in the morning.

The team:

In general the team is pretty strong, with a number of players well capable of playing league football. It is also a young team so there will be many of years of service out of the players.

Players to note are:
in Goals Miles McGarry and Charles Coulibaly.

in Defence Dan Morgan, Chris Booth, Julian Jones, James Todd and Gary Harper.

in Midfield Dave Morgan, Paul Saunders and Matthew Wynter

and in Attack Elias Barreau and Mark Howe.

in the Reserves Andy Oakley and Bobby Edwards are worth keeping.

and the youths have not a looker among the bunch.

Our Ass Man Chris Ellis has recommended we check the following strikers

Lewis Brown English 30 y.o. free agent.
Joe Logan ICT reserves 20 y.o. £30k (loan list)
Kevin Cambell Alloa 27 y.o. £14k.
IMO they are all worth looking at.
Furthermore there was a list of players recommended by other staff whom I scouted all :

There are three donkeys in the team, I'm told they are all related to one K.Kilbane; S. Olgun, P. Parris & N. Matthews. I included a screenshot of their release fees, Olgun's is OK the other two steep.

Staff:

We are not the worst off for staff, however what we have is not great:

Chris Ellis Ass Man good at man management, mediocre at best otherwise
J Hackney Good at defensive coaching, determination and discipline.
Coach C Palmer & Youth coach T Grant good at adaptability determination and discipline
Physio P. Palmer, a 15 rated physio, good at nothing else but who cares?
Scout C Bridges useless, coaches have better judging ratings.

I would suggest looking out for new coaches and scouts, as we're short on quality. Maybe a new ass man as well if we can afford it.

Finanaces:

We've £365k in the bank, £160k p/a of sponsorship, £80k of a budget and £8,117 out of a £9,072 wage budget.

They are good for a club of this level. But we'll probably make losses without good sales.

Boardroom:
I looked at season expectations and the board want mid-table, 1st round FA Cup and 4th round FA Trophy. I believe these mostly doable (though the FA Cup may be hard).

Otherwise there are no expectations as of yet.

Affiliations:

None. I suggest that the first board request should be for a parent club, and hopefully we'll get a Liverpool or Man Utd. They're dross will get in our first team and we won't pay a penny.

As of yet I have not looked at transfers we could swing apart from the suggestions. Will look probably tomorrow.

Photos here

Will probably sim on a week tomorrow just to get a look at the scouted players.

@TT I'm taking the Willem Shaxper method of name spelling.

Initial Thoughts -

Lewis Brown looks like he could be a real gem of an addition for our already decent strikeforce. I personally like to play with 2 strikers (1 Strong Complete Forward on support with a pacy/high finishing Poacher playing off them). He could fill the Complete forward role well if he is interested. Play Mark Howe as the poacher & we could score plenty.

Gary Harper & Chris Booth are beasts for 17 years old - keep hold of them and we will be very well off.

We could also do with trying to sign a winger or two as we look horrendously deficient on wide men.

We have enough to cover us, but yes a few decent wingers would be a good idea.

Biggest priority early on would be a strong parent club though, it would make everything so much easier for us.

Of course a top parent club would be a major boon, a couple more top notch players and we could easily exceed expectations.

We do need a bit more depth in the squad though imo. Only a little bit - maybe 4-6 new players, mainly back ups should cover even the worst injury problems

Yeah we need a bit more depth, for the moment though I think our squad can be padded out with loans and frees. I'd keep the £80k for a player who'd get in the first team myself, i.e. someone we'll be keeping.

I would also like to offer Lewis Brown a contract straight away.

And final note I didn't talk about the expectations, we can go from top half finish all the way to Champs. I'd keep it at the current top-half finish for now, there isn't enough extra money for the pressure of looking for promotion.
