Any wrinkles we should know about or is this a vanilla start?

How much harder than Hard is Impossible? Since Imp3 (which I lost to an early vote), I've played and won 3 games on Hard. :war: One as the Psilons in a Large galaxy, one as the Klakons in a large galaxy, and one as the Sakkra in a medium galaxy. In your opinion, would I have a shot at Imp4? I would like to play, but since I don't have as much time to be playing as I'd like, I don't want to waste my time if I need more practice before advancing to Impossible.

Mind if I jump into this? Was happily reintroduced to moo1 by reading some of the previous imperia. I'd forgotten how silly the psilons were until I recently had a 27 planet psilon opponent who just sat until he hit the top of the tech tree....while I'm busily scraping together an anti-psilon alliance armed with fusion beams and omega bombs. I got lucky with a ground invasion and got teleporters so we had one of those late game glassathons.

The AI's become annoying 20-30 years faster. If they're winning minor victories on Hard, they will wreck you on Impossible.

The other issue is the computer builds twice as many bases, one per 3 pop on most planets, and while you can crack 15-20 bases whenever you put your mind to it, cracking 30-40 takes serious tech.

A shot. There may be a rich habitable nearby. The AI's may make war with one another instead of declaring on you unprovoked. You may get a weak neighbor you can actually attack before 2400 instead of being cornered. Enemies may not learn Spores, or may build conventional warships regardless.

You probably need more practice. In particular, with Meklars, because they're strange to play. Planets take forever to fill up, so you're stuck in the opening longer than anyone. Your tech costs are 214% what you're paying with Psilons on Hard, 267% in Planetology which is often crucial as it means you can't rely on settling the hostiles in your area. Meklars stay weak for a long time. If you're given time to max your planets and time to research once maxed, you win in a walkover.

I still need practice with the first phase myself. At least when I lose I lose quickly.

Hi,

I didn't feel like playing a plain game with the Psilons on Hard, but this sounds more interesting. I will probably get a sound beating, but at least I will have tried! hammer
