Well, the spot 1N or 1E of the deer could be viable, if there is seafood. Not the 2nd and not the 3rd city though

Yeah, this island sucks.
Luckily the other islands are good to settle anyway, it will make all our trade routes be worth an extra buck. After settling the wheat (wow, what slim pickings we have) I'd hope to go offshore.

Well, I'm hoping for some seafood which would make a city 3N of the capital viable. But yeah, early Sailing does look more and more attractive

Gaspadore discovered a tech (!?!)
Facts:
* They're after us in the turn order, so they discovered it on T3, in 4 turns
* They're Exp, so I would expect them to work the same tiles as we do
* So they're getting the same 10 bpt as we do (8 from Palace, 1 from city centre, 1 free beaker you always get)
* In 4 turns they could get 40 beakers
* They start with Fishing and Mining
Looking at the list of cheapest techs, and from the global power increase of 2k, I believe they discovered Hunting
Why? Probably because it's a cheaper way to AH than via Agriculture. Is it a good idea to research a useless tech early instead of a more expensive, but useful tech? I don't think so, but it's up to them. Maybe they have a more accessible Hunting resource, maybe it's not so useless to them

Sian discovered a tech. Done in 6 turns, working probably a flood plain, so at 11 bpt. I'm going to assume it was Agriculture, because it's the most logical thing to research

The Quechua reached the wheat, and found... well, nothing interesting
I guess the plains hill is indeed the best location for the 2nd city. Worker done at EOT, will start a Settler next

Regoarrar and Pindicator also discovered a tech this turn, I'm going to assume it's AH, it's consistent with demo changes too
Started Fishing, due in 4

We now have enough map knowledge for the first dotmapping exercise
Thoughts:
While Magenta dot is a good location short-term, moving it 1SE could be better long-term. The currently planned location has too much water. The 1SE spot loses the 2h city centre and the FP, but long-term the FP will be controlled by the capital, the hill can be mined, and it can share horses with the city we will have across the strait. Moving it also allows to move the Orange dot 1E, and it helps to avoid wasting a grassland hill
Green dot actually looks nice. Yes, it has a lot of tundra, but it also has 2 decent resources, and shares FPs with the capital, this can very well help cottages grow
Cyan dot is obviously a long-term prospect, but with deer and hopefully seafood is could be a decent whipping centre, and maybe even a GP farm later

Sian discovered something. Must be Mining, nothing else makes sense
T13
We discover Fishing, and start working on Sailing. With overflow and pre-req bonus, it's due in 8, although probably will be delayed by a turn due to the 2nd city founding
Regoarrar is the first to grow to 2
Gaspadore got a tech, AH I think, no other reason to go Hunting first
