Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Good Bad and the Ugly

I have tried a weird druid variant last season based on the Rabies skill. While it was uber all the way through NM and fun at the same time, it hit a brick wall in Hell diff when poison dmg just doesn't kill fast enough. You would think "What's the problem, you still have other skill that kills such as Fury"

Well, If I also went with Fury, it wouldn't be a build based on Rabies. ;p
I would be a Fury wolf using Rabies as secondary skill.

GoodBadNUgly is a three form druid - he frequently transforms between the 3. He maxed Rabies and used Wolf to deliver the poison, and then transforms to bear and stun them with Shockwave while the poison take effect. And of course he changes to human form from one were to another. The problem is that the timer between transformations is just a bit too long for my normal build strategy, which is normally no more vit than to avoid 1 or 2 hit kills. So GBU gets slaughtered often when he is in transformation.

I still think this will make a nice variant druid if I revise the skill/stat points a bit more. Like more Vit *Yuk* and devote more skill points to Lyc

Which brings me to the question.. has anyone got a Carrion Wind ring before I commit points to Poison Creeper?

Did they ever fix poison creeper graphical uber lag? If not, the skill remains unplayable.

Seems fixed. Noone complained and I don't notice any lag myself. Creeper itself remains a good synergy for Rabies at best, so it may or may not be cast.

This build has many issues. I don't think I would like to use any summon wolf or bear but I like the idea of having some birds around. Right now, I am torn between whether or not to get some Ravens. On the one hand, it is good to have some helpers to Blind Targets which would make it safer during transformation. On the other, Raven could be a big hinderance to Rabies when monsters are blinded - Rabies does not get spread.

Previously, Doc thought Rabies build is screwed because the collision detection routine is broken that when monsters are made to flee they don't spread Rabies. That is proven to be false (no surprise), futher more, Hit Cause Monster to Flee is not the best way to spread Rabies around. The best way is to hit one monster and then draw back a step or 2. This cause the monsters behind the affected one to advance and fall in the trap, so to speak. Otherwise, monsters in the back would just wait until there is room to move in.

Heh ya, got my Carrion Wind. Maybe I should post more wanted ads here. Last time I was looking for 1 Guardian Angel, then I get 3 in 2 days.
