ASM would be the one going for it, not Luddite. That's the advantage in him going for it, over Lewwyn, for example. ASM has a weak neighbor in Thoth, a small border with Sulla, and Lewwyn in between him and Speaker, so he's kinda off in his own corner of the map. So for you to get at him, you need to tear through both Luddite and Lewwyn.

As for their research, I expect they're have ASM running 100% culture while Luddite/Lewwyn continue funding/researching. Their tech rate will be hurt, but they'll still be researching, unlike a normal cultural victory where tech is turned off altogether. With philosophical, ASM will have a leg up on churning out Great Artists. Between Sistine and Free Speech, each artist specialist he runs produces 12cpt, and that's before other other modifiers.

Would they have a viable shot at victory doing this? I honestly don't know. I think Sulla would ride in and try to put a stop to it if ASM gets to close to winning.

Shoot the Moon Wrote:Also can anyone confirm whether it is three cities from one civ or from one team?

Having just tested it in WB, I can confirm that 3 legendary cities on the same team is enough for a cultural victory. Also dave, spaceship parts can be shared amongst teammates as well (see Kylearan's Adventure 11 for proof).

Team 2 is well set up for a cultural victory out of everyone in this game. Only problem is, culture takes time (well, aside from Milkshake with all those wonders there). Can they really hold off all of us and continue towards culture at the same time? A team game makes it more likely, but I'm not sure about it. In the meantime, we need to do what we can about this, and the best way we can do that is focusing on luddite.

That's what I thought. That makes it MUCH easier to win culture in this kind of game.

A good way to keep tabs on this would be to make note of how many Great Artists they have. I'm sure the recently generated one is not their first right? One good thing is in a team game, all members also share the great person pool limit, so there's no speed advantage in generating artists... That said, they generate a bunch of artists and stockpile them and really they don't have to get far for the culture win. And like I said, they get 3 Hermitages. I actually do think this is achievable only because the other 3 teams cannot coordinate against them. And honestly, I would rather see them win than Team1 anyways if I'm honest so what would be the motivation to help Team1 bring them down exactly?

It's their 4th iirc. I remember them producing at least two merchants and an engineer. Wishing I had kept better track of these things crazyeye

I would rather them win than team #1, but I want us to win first and foremost. We bring them down to keep our shot at victory open.

Thanks for checking things out in Worldbuilder WK thumbsup

Team #4 researched gunpowder. You know what this means?

More seriously, it means Nabaxo now has access to Aggressive Musketeers. This tech choice seems to support my theory that Team #4 has given up on this game and is trying to go out with a bang. They still don't even have education.

The other incentive for stopping Team 2 is that it means we take their land and thus helps us win.

Brief commentary on Team #1

If I have them pegged right, Sunrise is the funder, while Sulla and Speaker are the researchers. While it makes a lot of sense make the civ with the stock exchange the funder, Gandhi, not so much. First off, he doesn't get any value out of Philosophical's double speed universities and consequent quicker Oxford. That's a lot of the value of Philosophical that they're missing out on. Furthermore, if you're the Great Person producer for the team, you're going to want to primarily be producing Great Scientists. Guess which buildings do not have scientist slots - markets, grocers and stock exchanges. So, basically, Sunrise has to:

A) Invest hammers in libraries to produce Great Scientists (which he did in Insta-Lock)
B) Run Caste System for longer periods of time.

They did overcome this a bit by building the Great Library, which was probably good for a couple Great Scientists that Sunrise did not need to produce.

Anyway, just my $0.02 on what I think is an anti-synergy in Team #1's setup.
