Many of you already know this, but I live in College Park MD, home of the University of Maryland. We're just northeast of Washington DC, 7 miles from the center of the city.

I have been drunk in College Park many a time. Went to high school in Fairfax County, VA, and to the Naval Academy. My first ever rock concert was the at the Capital Center, in Landover, exit 32 off the beltway in those days, Rolling Stones, 1975.

I now live in Corpus Christi, TX, the sparkling city by the Bay.

Imageshack is a good free site to upload images. After uploading the image, it gives you several links: copy and paste the "direct link" into the img tags.

I live in Toronto, mainly. But right now I live at Pike Bay, on the west side of the Bruce Peninsula, which separates Georgian Bay from Lake Huron.

And, just because I like this recent pic, here is one taken on one of the islands just outside the bay. The herons have a tough time finding trees out there to nest in; this is the first time I have ever seen a nest in a cedar tree. The babies couldn't fly yet, so I got about 20 feet away before I even realized there were any birds in that tree, let alone five blue herons.

here's a photo I made out of our living room window, on a day a very bizarre cloud formation appeared on the skies. So you won't see our house, but at least you can see what I we see every day. Slightly left of the middle of the picture, you may be able to see the tower of Castle Godesburg, and between the castle and the village is the river Rhine, only to be seen in winter from here.

Unfortunately, the far more beautiful view would be from the other side of the Rhine looking towards our house, because directly behind us is the Siebengebirge, a very beautiful hilly forest, often described in romantic poems and songs by 19th-century poets ("Rheinromantik"). I'll try to make a picture and upload it as soon as we have better weather and I have more time.
