I just tried to load a PBEM save as a hotseat, and it still acts as a PBEM, creating a save after clicking end turn, without giving a direct option to enter the next player's password.

If there is an admin password and it is known, the assets check can be bypassed by loading into the Pitboss host program.
If the admin password is not known, you're stuck; that's how PBEM4 was doomed to its bugged mod.

Really? I just loaded my last save as HotSeat (Multiplayer -> HotSeat -> Load Game) and it prompted my for my PW, I played my turn, and then it cycled immediately to Mist. ("Mist, it's your turn! prompt"). I'm cautiously optimistic that we can fix it this way.

The Lock Modified Assets switch was not thrown for this game. Looking at my most recent save.

By Pitboss host program, do you mean Civ4BeyondSword_PitBoss.exe? I just tried that, and when I choose to 'load a game', I only get to a screen where I can kick players. I don't see an option to actually load the game. Or do you just need to select 'load game' while having the altered DLL in your mod folder, immediately save the game in that kicking screen, and then the new DLL is considered part of the standard assets?

I'm willing to give it a try if you give me your password. And Mist's I guess?
When does one need to start? The turn before or the player's turn when the Unity Library is built?

You'll need Selrahc's save of the turn when he built the unity library. I'd be onboard with it, but we'll have to get everyone else awake anyways to collect micro instructions and PWs...
Since it's a turn that has already been played, it should be fairly straightforward.

Just checking, so you mean the turn when he gets the popup "Production complete in blahblah"? I'm asking because production happens at the end of a player's turn after clicking end turn, so the Unity Library would have been actually built the turn before he got the message and the ability to choose his tech. So my instinct would be that one needs to go back a turn earlier, and get everyone's password.

I mean the turn where, if it was a pbem, he would see he had built it when he hit end-turn, but hadn't gotten any popups yet.

Alright. I think we have a workable fix.
So here's the deal. We're going to have a game-admin play through a round of turns in Hotseat mode. To do that he'll need the passwords from each of us, and instructions on what to do. The turn that needs to be played is MY2132. You can't just double-click on the save btw, you need to open PF, go to Multiplayer -> Hotseat -> Load Game.
We need the save sent to Selrahc for MY2132, so either Selrahc or Nicolae can send that, or I suppose Mist could grab it from the tracker?
Admin plays:
Selrahc's MY2132
Bobchillingworth's MY2132
Sareln's MY2132
Mist's MY2132
Nicolae's MY2132
Selrahc's MY2133 - Picks Selrahc's Tech and Saves Game
Admin then sends Selrahc the hotseat Save. Selrahc can then open the save back in PBEM mode and play the rest of his MY2133 and we should be back in business.
