Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

The Eastern Front;

Just a bit of sentry work going on from my War Chariot there.

The Western Front;

Settler in Poisson is going to claim moar marble, which I might trade to waterbat to keep the peace.

The Island;

Would love to claim the NE corner of this island before Xenon gets the chance.

The Demographics;

Right up there in most categories, looking pretty good at the moment.

The Moai Statues;

Finished them last turn, frees up some of the land for Normal and Student T to work.

The Statistics;

I think this says it all about what I've been doing so far. Get that economy up and running ASAP, everything else can come later.

Catwalk just triggered a Mausoleum fueled golden age. Not really what I wanted to see, but oh well. At the end of my turn I'm #1 in food again, and a reasonably close 2nd (given Catwalk's GA) for production.

I really hope Catwalk isn't gearing up for a golden age fueled attack on me. Would definitely not be ideal.

On the bright side, at my EOT I'm #1 in GNP and Crop Yield. Catwalk's GA is blowing me out of the water on MFG, but I'm still #2 there.

Catwalk just built the Colossus and founded Christianity. yikes

Current research plan is get CS, pick up Alpha to open up the Philosophy bulb, and then pick up MC and Machinery. However, if after researching Alpha no one has Lit or Drama, and peace still reigns, I'll go Music to grab the artist.

Philo bulb has the other advantage of Angkor Wat, a great synergy for my Obelisks.

Working on The Parthenon in Student T, partially for denial value, but mostly because it'll amplify TGL and the numerous other specialists I have running in my food surplus cities.

I'd love a way to generate some serious culture in F, to push borders against Catwalk. Not sure how I'm going to do that yet though. One option is settling the Music GA in F, which would help push the culture without having the same sort of diplomatic penalties as culture bombing.

Finally, I'm beating all civs in terms of land owned. Pretty good when considering that there's 3 CRE leaders with their free border pops.

Just popped a Great Scientist out in Normal. Finished Alpha this turn, which means I can bulb Philo next turn. I suspect Catwalk is building The AP, based on the massive cost of sabotaging production in his capital and the lack of alternative wonder builds for him.

I'm probably going to put 99% of Music in the bank, and if anyone else becomes able to research it I'll finish it off. No need to grab it right now since only Waterbat has Aesthetics, and he has neither Literature or Drama.

Catwalk just entered into Bureaucracy, 3rd after superjm (1st) and myself (2nd). Sareln and I are the only 2 not in HR, but that's not a problem for me with plenty of luxuries, and a religion.

Other musings;
Need more workers, and more cities.
A stronger army would be nice.
I really hope a Xenon stack of horse archers doesnt pop up in the jungle to my south. I think most of his power is axemen at the moment though, so I should be ok.
Might be worthwhile switching to Pacifism/Caste for a few turns to help get rid of some of my whip anger.

Catwalk was building, and has built, Hagia Sophia. How bizarre. Surely he has better things to build? Or am I underrating HS?

Anyway, picture time.

That's the Taoist Holy City. Bulbed Philo as intended, founded Taoism in the city I wanted to. F is the likely location of my National Epic, since it has lots of food and not much else, so it may as well work specialists.

Parthenon finished in Student T. Going to build a military unit to grow to size 8 and then start another settler in there. Probably need to start settling down the south east floodplains and getting them up and running for more commerce.

Things are looking rather nice on this particular screen. Waterbat with Construction is a slight concern, but I hope to avoid that particular threat by maintaining a NAP.

Well, waterbat has just closed borders. I'm sure that can't be a good sign. On the bright side, my intercontinental trade routes are the source of most of my trade route income, so no commerce lost.

According to my interpretation of the previous deals that I've made, he's broken a deal we had by closing borders. Likewise with Catwalk this turn.

Waiting for a clearer interpretation on what the consequences are for breaking deals, and how to determine whether someone has broken a deal.
