Viqsi, would you be comfortable being on your own? Or do we need to find another green team or a teammate for you?

I'm going to cap it at 5 teams per game, just so we can start firming things up. But we are definitely at 2 games here, T-Hawk.

We seem to have enough for two games. The only thing I am concerned about is how I have a more experienced partner and no one else does.

I know Sareln & Azza have played in games before, but if Fintourist or anybody else wants to get a dedlurker / partner then we absolutely can find someone.

I am just hoping that someone helpful will support me to get all the technical stuff going and I get some of my game mechanichs questions answered in my soon-to-be-opened thread..

I might have couple of days coming this year that I can not be online and therefore it would be great if someone can play my turns according to my instructions. But I guess I'll have plenty of timetime to figure that out.

My talent probably isn't worth the most, but I'm open to ded-lurking/teaming with Fintourist or Viqsi if either of them want it, as long as I don't become primary turnplayer; I definitely want to stay busy, but with a baby coming in March I'd prefer not to be main turnplayer anywhere at that point. :P

I am planning to update my thread on a regular basis but since my real-life is quite hectic I can not guarantee that there won't be any phases where my communication is a bit scarce.

I could sub for you Ichabod, although time zones might be a problem.

That'd work for me. Seeing that I'll probably be away on holiday season, I doubt the pace of the games would be pretty fast if I was online, in the first place. So if you can tackle one turn here and there, without any special commitments to pace, that would be good enough, I think.

It's up to you if you want to remain unspoiled, though. Take into consideration that you'll most likely be a long time in the dark only relying on me to make updates. :P

I'm following plenty games already, so np with being your dedlurker. I should warn you that I probably won't offer all that much input, and whatever I offer will be of very limited value I'll make sure to stick around when you're about to leave, so I can get up to speed on what you want me to do.

Viqsi, go ahead and sign up! I'll make xenu or cheetah lurk you if noone else will, I have special powers of persuasion...

And if he doesn't wanna play, I could still signup to be primary myself, I would enjoy that, I would just NEED to have a teammate or someone to at least cover turns come March to do so; similar to Ichabod's situation and all.

I don't really know much about folks here other than a few of the Super Rock stars, so really my position is "hey, help is OK, but be warned that I have egomaniac tendencies"

All right, we got our rosters down. Here are my thoughts for a ruleset:

Map
* Snakey archipelago similar to pbem17 (but not duplicate of)
* Make naval strategy as important as land strategy
* Enough land that Astronomy is not the One Right Choice
* Land connection between all starting capitals? (I'm unsure on this but someone told me they prefer it)

Diplomacy
* I prefer AI Diplo, even with it's inherrent frustrations. Open to hearing alternatives.

Other Bans & Settings
* Leader / Civ / Wonder bans to be determined by map maker. Map Maker needs to weigh the water-based civs & civics & wonders; would be nice for them to get a lot of input on this with the map thread.
* Map size - lots of land to expand to or relatively cramped? I think i would like land to expand, but capital's close enough that you can have early game wars.
* Difficulty - any strong opinions here? Prince is probably fine, maybe monarch if we don't have a toroid.
Draft leaders / civs from what is remaining
* No Nukes
* No War Elephants
* Spies? I think these get banned too
* No Huts
* No Events
* Played on BtS (no RBMod this game)

Anything else need banning?
Does anybody want to propose a different method for picking & restricting leaders/civs/wonders than the draft & mapmaker choice?
Also, what does everyone think about starting every civ with a scout? That way we don't have any early game losses do to lucky scouting but we still preserve the choice between warriors or workers to start.

Also, some of these settings don't have to be exact between vet & green games. But it may help to align it for simplicity.
