Good mission - panic is never fun to deal with. Slightly worrying it keeps happening to Uberfish - whats his Will score ?

Dazed - I haven't seen you post since you sent this on the 12th. Can you confirm whether you're up and have the save or want another skip ?

Good mission Hap. Our being stuck taking soldier rewards that we didn't really want (While I'd have happily taken a 2nd heavy we honestly did not need the extra sniper or support at this point, and new recruits coming in in this SG format with higher rank is very bleh) is a drawback of trying to save all the countries and therefore letting country panic dictate our mission choices to us Which is why my usual policy in this game is to just sacrifice a few countries in the interest of more efficient XCOM operations. Never launched more than 12 satellites.

I wouldn't worry about the panic incidents, it's just random. No one panicked when Brackard was killed during my mission

Concerning alien grenades, we can just use them. Rather unintuitively, they aren't expended after being used during a mission. Having 2 alien grenades just means the maximum we can take on our squad is 2. But we'll still have 2 grenades after the mission even if they're thrown. which makes the foundry project unnecessary if you are doing well with muton captures.

While the soldier rewards are not ideal, I like the idea of saving the entire world if we can. It is a form of variant play, and really we are doing very well overall. So I think we can manage it.

Panic is annoying, and can occasionally spiral out of control. But the muton Intimidate ability really bothers me. I am supposed to be scared because I just smashed you for major damage? If they used it after wounding or killing one of our guys, then it would at least make some sense. But triggering after they get wounded...it really does not work for me.

For the global situation I think we can write off Egypt and South Africa if we really want to, save Mexico (to keep the NA bonus possible), grab Argentina for the SA bonus, and then have one sat left over. Canada to get the NA bonus? Russia for cash? But if we are not going to grab Argentina this month then we really ought to just start the interrogations.

Sorry I have t posted in he last few days. It's been busy but I've got it and should be able to play tonight. Everyone has been doing a good job on missions. Poor Brackard though!

I like the idea of keeping all the continents as well. It's not the smartest play in pure power gaming terms but its fun to keep them all! In general terms, I wish keeping countries wasn't solely based on luck. I am glad there's some randomness in the game of course but I wish that there was more "tough choices" to keep countries. Like, would I be willing to sacrifice one of my best soldiers to keep a country?

Sadly, the new X-Com seems to be lacking in the charming random deaths that the original had, but if you need more recruits, I'll volunteer. (And I'm female.)

I will be traveling for Thanksgiving in the USA for the next week or so, and away from my gaming computer. So if the turnset gets back around to me before Sunday November 25th please skip me.

Also, has anyone downloaded and tried the latest save? I have no reason to think anything is wrong with it, but if there is better to know before I leave and can not re-upload it.
