Turn 15

This was so uneventful of a turn that I don't even bother posting a screenshot and this message is written only for the sake of completeness. Scouting revealed nothing special and there were no changes in demographics. Next turn will surely be more interesting.

Turn 16

Scout revealed more of the passage in the south, found crabs and "Agassi" finished farming the rice. This obviously boosted the growth curve of the "Ace" and the capital will grow to size 2 EOT17 (next turn).

Sareln finished a tech and enjoyed a power increase of 4000 soldier points (rival best & worst stats confirm that all the points went to Sareln)

Basically there are two options what could have happened:
a) Sareln researched the Wheel
b) Sareln researched Hunting/AH/Sailing and built a warrior

My conclusion is that he teched the Wheel because:
1. Rival best GNP did increase while there were no changes in food or production -> Sareln is now rival best and researches something with pre-req (AH or BW)
2. I would be surprised if Sareln's two first builds would be something else than WB+Worker
3. His research time since the last tech somewhat matches the time I expect him to tech the Wheel
4. It would be at least a minor coinsidence that he finishes both the warrior and the tech at the end of the same turn...

Well, there is no certainty. Starts are possibly not completely mirrored and I do not know where Sareln ended up settling. I should be able to confirm/overrule my guess as I follow further score & demo/power changes.

Turn 17

Scout found more jungle in the south. Capital grew at the end of the turn to size 2 with exactly 22/22 in the food box. Starting now I have a food surplus of 6 and will grow to size 3 in four turns. At that point I will stop the growth and start with the 2nd worker.

"Agassi" pre-roaded towards pig-gold city. Next turn he will move onto the sheep.

It's too early to make any conclusions about the demos, but after the growth I became the leader in food stats. jive Better to be happy about small things since there is no guarantee that I will have anything to celebrate once my opponents get things going.

Azza researched a new tech that did not affect soldier points. That is most likely Agriculture, but theoretically it could be mysticism as well. Well, I assume Agriculture.

Since the game is progressing slowly, I have sandboxed my start again for the next ~50 turns. Of course that is completely theoretical. Copper placement & known tech bonuses will affect my micro already in the coming turns. I managed to squeeze couple of turns off my Stonehenge ETA, but if I am realistic, Sareln will get it if he wants it. Fast exp workers and IND-bonus should help immensely. We'll see what happens.

Turn 18

Scout revealed more of the passage. No fear for early rushes there. I guess pretorians on a boat is my horror scenario lol

I researched Mining at the end of the turn and have now the lead in the score. Wuppiduu! My worker moved onto PH sheep tile and next turn he will start pasturing.

No major changes when it comes to demos. Someone does a little bit of tile juggling and/or got a tile improved. Rival food average grew and rival best GNP decreased, so maybe someone improved the corn and works it now instead of fish.. Nevermind.

Later with IW and calendar there will be a spot for a city or two.

Turn 19

Scout kept wandering in the jungle, boah there is a lot of jungle. I truly hope that I manage to meet Azza or Viqsi in the map centre. Sareln or Hydra are also okay, if they are now teching BW. I will never have enough time for reaching someone else's borders.

Ace produced the first warrior at the end of the turn. I considered naming him as "John McEnroy", but I guess I spare that one for my first GG lol

Worker put the first out of four turns to pasture.

Sareln grew to size 2 and is now rival best with 10 food. If I'm thinking positively he is doing the same thing as I do, but he is two turns behind. Settled one turn later, compensated plains hill with the EXP trait, but needed one extra turn for moving worker onto rice and grew that's why later. Obviously the possibility to build Working boat instead of warrior will help him make up the difference.

If I'm negative, he already has five workers and a settler running and working boat ready..

Turn 20 & State of the World

Capital kept growing, worker pasturing and scout continued wandering through the jungle passage. Now it looks like I am getting closer to the center. I hope I meet somebody there!

Teams that settled on T0 received their land points and Viqsi got a 10 point increase: Tech + pop point. Soldier points also grew by 3000. There are 3 possible options:
- Viqsi pop point + tech worth 2000 points (Hunting/AH/Sailing)
- Viqsi pop point + warrior
- Viqsi pop point + Azza warrior
This time I go with the third option and assume that Azza built warrior and Viqsi teched Agri. Viqsi's research time does not really match with any of those 2000 point techs and Azza has been at size 2 for a while and could well have built a warrior. But yes, guess is a guess and I will get wiser as more information comes in.

Despite the low interest towards this thread I won't give up updating yet. I hope that this will at least be interesting for my opponents after the game. But now because 20 is a nice round turn number I'll make a short summary about what I believe is going on in the world. Since there are not yet that many interesting differences between players, this is a kind of a test-run for later reports so improvement suggestions and comments are welcome. smile

Score:
Fintourist: 73
Azza & Hydra: 64
Sareln & Viqsi: 47

Everybody is now at size 2, 1 have one more tech than the opponents and 1 land tile more than Azza & Hydra. Sareln & Viqsi will get their points at the end of the turn.

This table includes couple of small assumptions. It can well be Viqsi who has the warrior.

I started with the most expensive techs and have still the most beakers in the pocket. Hydra will probably get BW very soon.

Everything is very even at the moment. I will grow to size 3 EOT21 and get sheep pastured in two turns so that will boost my stats, but everyone else is improving too... Rival top production just grew to all-time high. Maybe Viqsi is working an improved copper tile.

Turn 21

This turn was again extremely uneventful. Scout found more resources in the southern jungle and my warrior defogged the one coastal tile that I missed previously. No surprises there. Sareln & Viqsi received their land points. Next turn will be more interesting!
