I saved up enough cash for Civil Service. Next tech is obviously Calendar. I'm also shuffling a Worker to New Scapula to chop those Jungles.
Does Civil Service's chain irrigation go through cities?

Yes, regardless of the terrain a city will spread irrigation to all adjacent tiles. This can really come in handy sometimes for passing through a row of hills.

Don't think it works through hills, although it does through desert.

Thanks guys, the main reason I wanted to know is because of Pelvis:
I'd like to farm 1E of Pelvis so that the farm isn't smack dab on the border with AT. Plus getting an extra food on that Wheat will be nice.
I turned on research to Civil Service, comes in in 4t. Tibia's at the happy cap already... time for another Settler to settle the spot northeast of Tibia? It secures the spices and can share the Fish with Tibia. Moving north probably won't be a good idea, with the city sitting near Kjn and AT.
In foreign news, Kjn researched Theology and founded Christianity.
The cities:
Raking in the dough here. I love the high happy cap and the high food surplus. My guess is blank cottages are better than lake tiles, right?
My secondary cottage capital, which is somehow almost making as many hammers as Tibia, if I worked that Mine. (Note to self, one of New Scapula's cottages accidentally passed to Ulna when it was settled. Take the cottage back and work it over the lake).
My hammer capital, which is somehow making as much money as New Scapula.
A border resource grab city. (Change to lake tile)
The new city, unlike Os Coxae and Pelvis, it actually has food! It seems to be a mixed city like Tibia, with hills but enough commerce to grow into in the early stages.
Also, strange how New Scapula and Tibia have LOWER maintenance than Sternum, my capital. I didn't expect -70% to have that much effect.

*reads the future question* Yeah, should be able to see it there, and I think actually maybe from 1E of Tibia.

I was almost certain that irrigation spread through hills too so I popped into wouldbuilder to set up a quick test and it does indeed work.

Thanks guys. Pretty moot, since Pelvis is on flatlands though.
I decided to wait on the Settler since I don't have any Workers. I considered popping a Worker out of New Scapula, but decided against it since I was only 3rd in Soldiers.
I'm considering trying to attack Be:
AT can easily fork the new city northeast of Tibia, and the city of Pelvis from Be. Plus, it's a rich site.
Combat Workers building a road 2N of Pelvis will let me move Impis and Horse Archers directly from Os Coxae, Tibia, and Pelvis onto the hill 1S of Be with no warning. As for Axes, I'll just set them up on the Gems tile, disguising them as 'reinforcing my defences.'
The only remaining question is how to get visibility into Be so I don't walk blindly into his defences. I think a Sentry Chariot will work, just need to build Stables in Tibia. If I put the Chariot 2N of Pelvis, can it see into Be? It should, right?

Are you sure? Did you test with a farm on a hill, because I definitely remember it not working with a city on a hill recently (sand being surprised).
Not that it matters anyway.

I decided to pop a Worker out of New Scapula:
Kjn sent a Chariot to annoy Tibia, I sent a Horse Archer to cover my Cows and an Impi to kill it off. I think he'll back off.
After Calendar, I'll probably hit Construction to get collateral. Horse Archers/Catapults sounds like a nice defensive plan.

I can't find any evidence that Kjn sent a Chariot at Tibia; no units, nothing in the combat log, that Horse Archer and Impi I sent are nowhere near Tibia. Have I gone insane?
Civil Service came in EOT. Time to backfill to Calendar and Construction.
I was going to whip a Stables in Tibia, but it turns out that the Stables are only a 1-pop whip. Instead, I'll whip a Market and overflow into Stables.
Strangely, I'm 2nd in Crop Yield.
