Your draft looks good, Zak, and Pling's report looks even better. Only one nitpick - Horse's Neck is not building a chariot, it started a monument.

Yeah - looking good. Also M3 didn't object so we're good to go. I'll change the wording so that it only concerns border towards them. Sending it then.

I doubt they'll mind if we push culture in our cities bordering TEAM, if that's what you mean. smile

I'm pretty happy with the deal, even if we're signing away a good chunk of land. At any rate we can sandbox in peace for quite a while, which is fun. Now we can focus on peacefully outbuilding the four financial teams. smile

This was good deal indeed. We'll have both marble and stone to play with and after Representation we've a good shot at getting the key wonder tech we want before others. We could try to land Great wall and/or Hanging Gardens and pursue e.g. fast Calendar to land MoM or alternatively Great Library. We'll have lots of Great persons in this game so MoM would be very useful.

This marble is going to be awkward to claim for Gillette. If they kick up a fuss about our southern claims we could cede the ivory site in exchange for a city claiming this marble.

yeah. They pretty much had to settle other side of the lake. However I'd prefer waiting for their response before offering anything else. Their snail pace in diplo makes it hard to keep iterating a deal that would be best for both of us.

Yeah, the marble city might be better for us, really, now that we've seen the map. smile

At least we've established a bargaining chip with that ivory city. We could always trade the ivory site for the marble site in a separate follow-up deal, once the NAP is secured.

Response from Gillette. Their marble city is badly positioned for both of us. I guess we need a further iteration round after all. We'll soon get 3rd ring there and it would take a long time to get that city functional and when they do that they'll steal our 2nd ring tiles.

Quote:We've done a bit more dot-mapping and our northern city will need to be 3w1s of your copper mine to fit. If you can live with that you have a deal. May we both REX in peace...

Now that that's all out of the way we have a few questions:
- At some point it would be good to get trade routes with you - right now I don't think we can, but when it's possible would you be interested in opening borders?
- Do you have an inkling of M3's intentions in settling around the Marble?
- Can you give us a warning when you plan to settle the ivory? We need to settle ours before or soon after to make sure the city doesn't get swamped in your culture.

Why is that positioning bad for us? Sure, it's bad for them, since our borders will likely expand to third ring before they even settle there, but there is no way they will ever claim any of our big fat cross. Our borders will expand on T79, for reference.

I think we should say "deal" just to secure the NAP, and then keep negotiating, offering to swap the ivory site for the marble area.

Edit: A city ON the ivory would be pretty nice. smile And it would have enough forests for the mausoleum.
