Just wanted to comment on the above e-mail a bit more. I'm clearly leading Dreylin on as I've no intention of trading him Feudalism and the NAP should allow me to get my peaceful expansion done and complete.

I also had a chat with Ruff and will trade maps with him next turn and once I have Feudalism and CS will trade Feud for Paper. He did try to feel me out as to where I stand and I painted a similar picture with him that I'm on the fence. He did offer in passing (jokingly with that hint of seriousness to it) to go North vs South (which is a great pc game I played in England in like 1992 about the american revolution...probably not that great a game now-a-days...anyways) which I kind of just glided past. I did bend the truth a lil bit when he asked if I currently have any NAP's. I told him yes with MH but it would soon expire with no real discussion of renewal at this point. So depending on your interpretation of the word "soon" you might view that as misleading.

On another note I've been thinking a little bit in terms of tech and Soooo is going to go to liberalism (hopefully) and pass along the free tech to us (mh & myself) so after Feudalism and trades take place and what not I'm going to head for Guilds then banking then economics and try and get that Free GM.

I'm not entirely sure if Dreylin is going to accept the NAP now that you've revealed your intentions for the barb city.

Regarding the trade: I understood that mh was going for CS from the
other guys, OTOH I do have it in hand right now. Were we to manage to
agree a NAP, I would be prepared to trade you CS up-front for
Feudalism when you complete it. That would get you 5+ turns extra in
Bureaucracy, and probably Feudalism on the same schedule even with the
revolt.

Regarding the NAP & Zapotec; I have no problem with the adjusted
duration or cancellation terms you suggested. I do have a unit sitting
outside Zapotec now, poised to take it and raze it myself. I had no
plans to keep Zapotec, since I will be settling a city 3N of the
location in ~5t, however I would be prepared to hand over the city
after capture, and will agree to not deliberately pressure the city
with culture for the duration of our NAP - though I will likely be
building Libraries, etc. as necessary in the surrounding cities.

Hey Andy,

I of course would expect you to build all buildings you might otherwise build in your cities such as libraries...I do have one concern though in that a large appeal of the city was to capture it myself for the gold boost as I'm pretty hard up on cash and way behind everybody in absolutely every way...I'm one move away from being on the doorstep and 2 from actually attacking...Is there any way you could see fit to let me have the spoils of war in this instance?

Taylor,

TBH, the gold is of secondary importance to me, it's really the XP I'm
after - trying to eeek my way to 10 to enable the HE. I'm happy to
gift you the gold as well as the city - and this way you get it a turn
earlier than you would by attacking. I can take a screenie of the
capture and either send it to you or post it in my forum for the
lurkers to authenticate the amount I send.

The NAP would commence from the turn I hand over the city and the gold
- i.e. t77

Given Zapotec's position in relation to my civ, there's 1 of Dreylin's and soon to be 2 cities within min proximity to pressure...is this city site even worth me considering trying to attain?

Based on what was posted earlier it sounds like holding on to at least the first ring of tiles shouldn't be too hard.

Ok so an update on what's gone on...

Dreylin and I had several e-mails back and forth. In the end here's what happened.
Feudalism came in and was given to MH and Soooo.
He took Zapotec
Gifted the city and the gold to me
NAP started for a minimum of 40 turns on T78.

I have just completed T78 and after ending turn my settler in Mecca completed and a GS was born.

I've had a natural spread of Buddhism into Medina and Hinduism into Damascus.

Next I will receive CS from MH and Machinery from Soooo.
I started literature for 2 turns and then will move on to Guilds.
I will also adopt Beaurocracy and Caste System and hire an artist in Zapotec as it has just come out of anarcy. I also plan on adopting Buddhism soon. Hopefully I can get some more natural spread quickly.
