The German War

Sullla mentioned that the Germans has started to move units southwards, towards us, and here are some more indications:

Wolfratshausen has been reinforced by their W2 axe (and they had a C1 axe there earlier).

In a way, it's good if that axe stays there - it's weak in a city and we can keep tabs on a mobile unit.

All the units has moved out from Wilhelmshaven. The only units we can see are 3 axes and 1 spear 1NW of Wilhelmshaven.

I think we must prepare for facing the bulk of the German army, or perhaps a limited counterattack against Simple Life. What about moving the mini-stack 1SE of Tree Huggers to Cutting Edge next turn, and go back to our earlier plan where we don't one-turn Wasserburg?

In a way, this is good news for our future relations with WPC (always look on the bright side of life), if they feel they get a chance for some easy war spoils, instead of having to fight the bulk of the German army for little gain.

We should notify WPC of this thing. Maybe talk them out of their stupid sneak attack plan.

Alternatively don't talk them out of their own war plans when they done fucked up, we take more land. And it'll their own damn fault.

Plus we come off as less patronising smile

how neither: let them know, and let them draw their own conclusions. thats alliance in good faith anyway.

Yeah, I think it's good to let them know about German force dispositions and so on - it doesn't cost us any, it builds goodwill, and it can hopefully help us finish the war a little bit quickly.

Is there any sort of worldbuilder file you want me to load?

Well, the Germans are starting be paranoid right now. They haven't moved their chariot in our land yet (I think it will shadow our main stack in the capital), and they have also moved up a sentry chariot towards Simple Life.

I think we can scratch our initial plan for strategic surprise. That said, I still think we can surprise them where and how we attack, if we take a leaf from Sullla's and Speaker's attack in PB2, where they used a slow-mover stack to fix attention and hide the fast striking force.

Can we abuse the vision on that chariot to pull units away from our actual attack lanes?

Well, are you thinking about the sentry chariot, or the chariot in our land?

Given that the Germans now have visibility on a big scary stack of maces and some cats, I think we should feint eastwards with those units, going towards Cutting Edge (promote the chariot in the stack to a medic, and let it remain with the slow movers, to make it seem more serious), and then mass chariots on the starting tile by the gems, perhaps with a single mace or two for backup.

The other question should be if we want to focus on the German army first, or the German cities. I think I'd prefer going for their army first, if we can, but on the other hand taking Wasserburg early on might make it much easier to catch their stack in our or neutral territory.
