To be honest, I don't trust anyone else with the defense of the empire expect for Sullla with Speaker advice. No offense to the rest of you guys!
I really hope that Sullla and Speaker can get themselves up for the task, because they are the best men for the job.

With all due respect MH.
No... except for the German lands. Not giving up the core cities.

We may want to swap everything to military.

Yeah, Sulla+Speaker are still the best guys for the job.
And I'm starting to like the idea of Music-Miltrad. We have alot of pop that can be turned into alot of Cuirs. Meanwhile, we and 'poly can draft at merely the same rate, and their draftees are stronger than ours. Yes, they have fewer cities than us, but they still have *18* of them and that's plenty enough. I've seen diety conquering stacks with fewer.

Maybe to lighten the load, military could be handled ala carte by a bunch of lurkers throughout the turn, while Sullla is freed up to do only diplo?

I'll get to the current turn tomorrow morning. I still want to reiterate: I really do not want to play these turns. Few others seem to want to do so either; this team has pretty much turned into scooter doing all the diplo, kjn doing anything C&D related, and me doing everything else. We have 50 people on the sidelines making little comments, and that's not all that helpful. Look, I don't want to call anyone out, but I'm being honest about how I feel. We're going to have 100+ units in our territory from three different teams invading in the next ten turns, and it's going to be a total bitch to play. It's horribly anti-fun and I don't want anything to do with it.
And neither does anyone else. So... back to square one again. Fun. I love diplo games.

FYI - when I logged in to get the unit counts, I had the map trade offer from WPC. I said sure. Hope this wasn't a problem.

Sullla really apreciate the time you have put in, but I've been in this from the beginning and put a significant effort into the early phases of the C&D. As I read the thread, I see the opinions of those I considered *great* civ players being cast aside. Its not unexpected that complete newbs like myself wouldn't feel like theres any way to make a contribution. hell, I had a HD crash 3 months ago and didnt even re-install civ yet.
Even KJN has done that inadvertently - he's taken the C&D to such a level, its impossible to keep up anything like that without huge investments of time.
Personally, due to overworking (its 1:54am and im at the office, wtf!), I already have 5.2 neglected people at home.
The three of you have been doing a great job shouldering the load, im not sure any good solutions are out there. I know if we get to the point where i'm a) playing turns b) doing full c&d or c) doing diplo for the team , we are in serious trouble.

I might be wiling to play some of the turns. Do you not want to play them when war starts or the turns leading up to the war?
