No, I think a nice message would do well. We don't plan on destroying Poly entirely and will have to deal with them in the future. So if we can act nice about it I think it could help for future diplo.

Assuming the war goes in our favor, poly will be out of the game and have 2 choices afterwards. Continue to attack us because why the fuck not, or part and go our separate ways.
We can treat them like friendly rivals, or we can treat them like mortal enemies. Being human, they'll likely reciprocate.

Our ambition is to kill their invading stack of draftees and support units. I don't see how that takes them out of the game. They're still the tech, infra and GNP leader.

And yes, we should respond promptly to UCiv. Our ETA depends on how much gold they can send us, of course, so I guess we need to lay out the calculations for them. If we can sell that we'll have rifling in not much more than 10 turns that would be good, as I presume the shorter term the funding is the happier they will be.

I tried to pick apart your draft but I think it's pretty good. Especially nice touch of not naming CFC or CivFr while still bringing them up
As for the gold we need for Rifling, I think that was calculated at 5000g? Is that correct?

I don't really like the 2nd and 3rd sentences. Pretending that we're not the leaders by quite a margin, at the moment anyways, seems silly at best and like we think they're stupid at worst. Attacking us is clearly the correct play for them. We don't need to encourage them, but let's not deny the obvious.
I don't think the war going our way would take them out of the game, so much as we'd be denying their chance to get into the game. They have a tech lead, and need to convert that into land. If they can't do that right now, things seem grim for them.
