So I was thinking about this for whatever dumb reason, and I think this may actually be a plausible gambit. At least much more plausible than my team's insane PB8 gambit. The issue is the capital design. There isn't a plains hill that makes sense to settle, and there are no plains hill forests. I'm assuming this was a conscious design decision to not make WB first too strong for the lake fish. Anyway, I'm expecting everyone else has a similar setup, so the best anyone could really do is 3hpt into a warrior in case of emergency. Given we're on normal speed, that's not really enough time to react to a well placed warrior. Only way it works is if our scout finds someone (and the ideal path for the warrior to take) quickly and our warrior(s) follows him, but there aren't many land tiles here - someone will be nearby. I dunno, I'm a little more tempted to throw caution to the wind and try something crazy than I was last night.
Anyway, I'll replay the turn at lunch time and decide then what the plan is. Mixed feelings still.
