Figuring for nearly identical starts and only 1 EXP leader (I think yes?), any opponent going Worker first will take 15t to build the worker. Going Warrior first and working a plains forest gets us a warrior in 5 turns. As long as the warrior beelines an enemy capital we actually have a decent shot at simply murdering someone straight up. At the very least we entirely screw their micro plan.

Sounds like a great strategy for getting second-to-last place!*

*Or if it fails, last place.

Well, now we have to do it to prove you wrong.

I return with great news, Thoth. I've successfully goaded your greatest rival into self-destruction. Muahahaha.

Fake edit that doesn't make logical sense: wait, crap, I posted this in the wrong thread!

So I was thinking about this for whatever dumb reason, and I think this may actually be a plausible gambit. At least much more plausible than my team's insane PB8 gambit. The issue is the capital design. There isn't a plains hill that makes sense to settle, and there are no plains hill forests. I'm assuming this was a conscious design decision to not make WB first too strong for the lake fish. Anyway, I'm expecting everyone else has a similar setup, so the best anyone could really do is 3hpt into a warrior in case of emergency. Given we're on normal speed, that's not really enough time to react to a well placed warrior. Only way it works is if our scout finds someone (and the ideal path for the warrior to take) quickly and our warrior(s) follows him, but there aren't many land tiles here - someone will be nearby. I dunno, I'm a little more tempted to throw caution to the wind and try something crazy than I was last night.

Anyway, I'll replay the turn at lunch time and decide then what the plan is. Mixed feelings still.

Despite's Seven's apparent reservations I say we go for it. Pec Hugeslab or whatever we name our warrior will obviously own anyone in his path.

Let's own these fools.

I'll let you replay the turn Scooter since you're still on the fence about it... But do it!

Turn 0

Screw it. I'm in.

I'm going to regret this crap but oh man it should be fun. Forests to our west, so east seems like the best way to scout. SE-E then NE-E or something like that sound good? Also, this is fun:

Forgot how much fun the scattered nonsensical improvements can be. smile
