+1 for Serdoa's design.
I'll leave specific wonder and civ bans up to Serdoa's suggestions after he finishes the map. Other settings:
Settings:
Game speed Normal
No elephants
No blockades
Everyone starts with scout
Barbs ON
Huts OFF
Events OFF
Corps OFF
Vassals OFF
Map? Serdoa (Set to large for 11 players)
Difficulty level? Monarch
Espionage? On, no spies, open to ONLY tech steals if enough care
Tech trading? OFF
Method to pick civ/leader? Snake/PB13 method was interesting, but labor intensive for someone
Diplomacy? AI diplo
Bans? Wait until Serdoa finalizes map for suggestions

Snake pick but I suggest extended ban list to try some unusual leaders. What about excluding all financials, except Wang Kong (and also Ragnar may be), and Sury?
FWIW, I'm in favor of trying to achieve something like this. We either ban the usuals and snake pick through the rest or a very helpful person rolls a number of random combinations, then culls for balance. If desired, we can choose to eliminate Pacal/India/etc from any potential combination. Perhaps each player would be presented with three balanced combinations from which to choose, and then we're ready to go. Saves time spent drafting. To that end, I don't mind if there's a mirrored leader or civ.

I don't mind playing a leader and civilization that gets rolled randomly or chosen from a balanced list. But I think that the game is more fun if people get to pick themselves.  I guess that means that I prefer a snake pick of some kind.

I'd prefer being able to pick leaders if we have spies, even just for tech steals, since it shakes up leader picking some, especially w/ extended ban list. If we have no espionage then random is fine.
Also, I like barbs on as well.

Eh Wetbandit how would you steal techs if you can't build spys?
I update the first thread with what people has voted so far (including myself)
The espionage option seems very confusing right now, since everyone wants a espionage on with different conditions.
So here is my proposal about espionage, either we use only passive espionage not building spies, settings GS or we go with all espionage missions except: revolt religion, revolt civic and sabotage production.

My problem with corps ban is that it makes SP the only right choice late game and SP is, in my opinion, quite boring. Though I agree that corps are OP.

SP is the one right choice for the players that don't have corps anyway, which is the majority of people in the game.

Looks like snake pick is winning (from some to-be-determined list), so you guys should probably also vote on seeing starts before or after the pick; makes a pretty major difference.

Having a choice between getting a corp and SP is better than just be forced to go SP.

I'd prefer the latter, there's not a lot of games with Espionage on and it seems fun. We should make sure that there aren't more broken spy missions, though.
