I am on the west coast.
of Australia.
So no eclipse for me.
I think Huayna will be the best leader here. Serdoa said there is no marble or stone on the map anywhere, so Industrious will be huge.
However, I think other people will realise that, and with Exp/Fin Pacal and Cre/Fin Willem banned, nobody is going to let Huayna go until pick 6.
SevenSpirits/Krill picked Zulu first, for some reason.

Can we not get roads pre-laid for the second city in some way? I kind of want to take Egypt, for Agri/Wheel.

I doubt Egypt will slide for us, and I don't want to reach in the first pick for a civ.
Strong choices could be Babylon, France or the Turks.
France has an amazing UU with a very short window, Turks have a great UB and decent UU with the same short time span as France and Babylon is great for an early rush. Not a fan of their UU
Overall, I'd say Turks for the Hammam.
As for roading, we'll have to see where we're putting that second spot down with our scout
Oh, and Sumeria could be good too. Vultures are tasty for that early rushing potential, pair them with Agg and they can take everything (even Praets!). Ziggaurat isn't bad, but nothing special.

when its our turn to pick we'll give ourselves 24 hours before I post our selection, just in case we change our mind about which of the six we prefer most.

I like the mining/hunting combo of the Khmer--allows for quick bronze research and immediate furs hook up.

BW->Agri->Wheel?
I'm starting to like the ottos, tbh. Maybe even an early UU that can be hard to counter, like sumeria?
Hunting is only 40 beakers, and the furs are a 2/1/4(5) tile, whereas the wheat is 6/0/1, a stronger choice in conjunction a grass or plains hill mine for early worker/settler pumping.
If we're financial, we could go for fishing to get that lake tile worked, and it seems like there's water to our west and south. But I doubt fishing is really a stronger choice.
Agri/Wheel means we go as such:
Mining->BW->Hunting->Pottery
Edit: Looks like Khmer is a no-go, with UU being banned.

Usually the Khmer UU isn't banned along with other WEs because it isnt' as broken as they are.

So Huayna and Darius are gone. 2met and Jowy will probably take one each out of - Lizzy, Mansa, Vicky, and Sury.

Maybe we should pull a wild card and go
MONTEZUMA
of Sumeria, of course. The speed at which our C1 Vultures are churned out will make all tremble! If we promoted them with cover or shock, then there is no counter to them until Maces! Maces!
That would set us pretty early on the path to war though. Might be fun to prove we aren't anybody's easy pickings
(as I imagine many are thinking with our inexperience)
Ok, so maybe I"m not totally serious on Monty. But I think an aggressive Sumeria is possibly the strongest military for the first 100-120 turns of the game, and that's HUGE.
Ragnar, Shaka and the HAMMER are now my top 3 choices.
I've had a complete 180, let's do some this game
