Introducing the first (?) PBEM ever conceived within another game's Lurker Thread
Like I said, I don't really care much about settings. I guess limited espionage and obviously quick speed. I don't have a preference regarding diplomacy or civs or the map.

I'd like to use a fairly typical RB set of bans - nukes, war elephants, etc. I'll see if I can find a model set from one of the other games to discuss.
I don't want (m)any bans on civ and leaders, though I'll go with whatever we vote for. But I haven't actually played enough BtS to be bored with India etc.
Would be nice to have a mapmaker.

How about something like this?
(June 11th, 2013, 19:06)retep Wrote: Snake Draft to select; Last in turn order selects first
Turn order to be determined according to time zone
Bans: War Elephants, Nukes, Spies, Corps
No Events/Huts/Barbs
Ban Blockades? Yes
Speed? Quick
Ballista Elephants allowed for Khmer? Yes
Things that need votes:
Any changes to the above rules?
Any civ or leader bans?
Any preferences on map type, world wrap, difficulty?
I'm ok with Sian and/or Serdoa joining us, but no more than six total please! I want to see a turn/day.
Data that we need to collect: Playing window (mine's GMT 2200-0300), e-mail addresses (RBMardoc at gmail), votes on the above.
I vote for the copied rules as is, no civ/leader bans, trust the mapmaker on type/difficulty. I'll still play if I'm outvoted though.

I would certainly recommend 5 ... its a wee bit trickier for a mapmaker not up to it (although Commodore is more than), but it tends to move at a plesent pace and theres some inherent imbalances (no 3v3 or 2v2 popping up, even if it coming neutrally without diplo) that are quite interesting.
IMO no serious preferences to the rules other than i don't want to be isolated ... 52 is fun enough but its hardly PBEM material unless its with specifics in mind (knowningly done)
Maybe a redo of the principle behind 26 could be interesting ... archipelago with Vikings and GLH banned?

Settings Bans: I'm okay with having corps, but also don't care if they're banned.
Leader Bans: I don't care either way; perhaps no bans, but with restricted leaders?
Map Type: Don't care. Just don't give me something like PBEM 3
Diplomacy (not part of retep's list but still important): Sure? Or not!
Email: Bobchillingworth at gmail.
Play window: Generally I'm pretty good for 7 -11 PM EST. I am working some irregular hours cause' of the holiday season, so I can't give a firm time block. I'm usually pretty good at playing when I can though, and I don't play mornings.

Forgot that one. I vote AI Diplo with a banter thread.
Still don't feel strongly enough to actually make a case for it, though
