See, I haven't actually played ME3. Which from everything I've been told is actually a quite good game, sans ending. Running through the entire trilogy so I actually have a proper save to import. Just finished up ME2, so sleep time now rather than installing stuff.

Ryan still hasn't shown up. While his lynch might not gain us all that much information, it at least won't *lose* us any (future) information, as we would if anyone actually attempting to play the game got lynched in his stead. I'm happy sitting here.

Do yourself a favor. Play until nearly the end (someone can help you with the right spot) and then stop. Make something up in your head that you think makes sense for the ending. Whatever you come up with will be far more logical and satisfying than what will actually happen. That way you can enjoy happy memories of the trilogy and not have any mention of it bring bitter disappointment to the surface.

In matters actually pertaining to this game, I am very happy that you are more active day one then I have ever seen you. I am also very unnerved by this as it seems such a big deviation from your play maybe it means you are scum :P. I think the only scum game of yours I remember reading was one in which you got lynched right off the bat. How many have you played as scum?

Rowain attacked Jabbz, and you attacked him. That's what he was saying, and it does check out, chronologically.
Posts where this is taking place? Like I said before, Rowain brought up the pair thing before I even mentioned Jabbs. I don't recall Rowain doing much attacking on Jabbz either.

I completely agree with Azarius on ME3. The ending will create a temporal vortex that will retroactively suck the fun and fulfillment out of the game all the way back to when you installed ME1 for the first time.

Just went back and looked, my post defending Jabbz's noobishness was mostly directed at this post from Catwalk.

Previously, people have been suspected on basis of talking a lot about mechanics and rules in the game thread as it's a way to seem active and up your post count while contributing nothing at all. It would be prudent to see us as competitors rather than friends for the duration of the game. Welcome to RB, and I hope you have fun with this game however it turns out.

I'll put a more serious vote on Mattimeo as I want him out of the bush this game. If he's scum, his lurking tendencies can be fatal to us. On a less serious note, that setup randomization gives me a headache just thinking about working out power role claims later on...

I couldn't find Rowain talking about asking these sorts of questions at all, and these posts still both come after his pair comment, so no, it does not work chronologically even if this is what you were referring to.

Noticed I've written Jabbz as Jabbs at least once. He usually goes by the latter. Why he isn't on this forum I'm not sure. Probably to make my life more difficult.

It looked to me like he was reading fast and just responded at once instead of stopping to think about Rowains vote probably being a joke. So lazy. Instead of evilly purposefully misconstruing Rowains comments.

Of course it looks like he is still plugging away at Rowain now so who can tell.

On Rowain himself I get no read good or bad which is completely normal.

Azarius: Rowain attacks Jabbz...

Lets start with jabbz - everyone knows strangers are up to no good.

...and you revenge vote for him. Except you're not voting due to the Jabbz vote but due to the novice-zak theory. Which is sort of analogous.

So Rowain's pair comment makes sense, I'd say, at least as an observation about the interconnectedness of existence.
I have to run.

About Goreripper, I thought he seemed nervous and might be cracking up a bit at one point, but he was again posting with more confidence towards the end of the day. In general, I think it's easy to read him as scummy because of all the jokes and pokes (which often do come across as non-reads), and there's not really any great comfort in seeing that he stays in character when you have realized that it is quite literally all an act, anyway. smile

In any case, I don't exactly trust him, but I don't regret giving him more time because he is posting a lot, and that is generally helpful.

So out of the non-Ryan candidates, I think I would indeed have gone for Sunrise. That's mostly just based on a bad first impression, and nothing particularly redeeming after that. His play seems needlessly passive, as has been pointed out. I don't really understand that attitude, coming from someone who is allegedly excited to play town for the first time in ages.

Sunrise, I'm not necessarily looking for your thoughts on every single player. Just in general, open up and share what's going on inside your head, so it's easier to read you, and we can exchange ideas. It doesn't have to be so deep, but some of the best town tells in my experience come from discovering that others are having the same (poorly founded) gut feelings and intuitions as yourself.

I was wondering how Jabbz would know that Q was calling people out, if he didn't know how the votes worked. Because if you just read Q's words, without reading anything special into the colors, he wasn't exactly being aggressive. Jabbz' reply seems to cover that base too, though.

Q's thoughts seem to line up with my own on several occasions, so far. But maybe he is just parroting me.

Q, you said that you wanted to hear from Sunrise. Then he made his opening post, and then you said this:

Why wasn't it important? And why exactly did you want to hear from Sunrise?
If you know what I mean.

Except he has pressed the issue since then. It is possible he misunderstood at the time, but going forward I have a hard time believing he has still misunderstood. For instance this post of mine:

Do you really need elaboration? Or do we have another pair with you and Jabbz?

I don't get the pair comment.

Yes I would have appreciated elaboration, but now you've refused to answer and just turned the question back on me, thus not having to explain yourself at all.

Q, I do not think it was obviously a joke. Yes, he has mentioned it before, and his bringing it up now in a lighthearted manner seems less like a joke and more like trying to introduce the idea and leaving the door open to revisit the concept later. He did say he'd like to do it day two. He may just be kidding, but the fact that he was so hesitant to explain himself at all makes me think he was feeling sensitive about it. I'm sure a scum Rowain would be very happy to be able to get a wagon going on a townie zak or novice on day 2.
makes it fairly clear what theory of his I was referring to.

Bolding is mine. This is a good point on sunrise. So far he has felt very similar to how he played in the paranoia game where he was scum. One would definitely think his happiness to roll town would show through more than it has.
