[spoilers] The what goes where?

I expect that is in response to me closing borders. It kicked his chariot out of America and ended up right next to two workers. He probably took those workers. I am not sure if this is a real war or just opportunistic. Easy answer is to kill his chariot if you get a chance.

T138:

BGN killed those workers and offered Ceasefire. His chariot retreated eastwards. Don't really want to deal with it, so re-offered ceasefire/peace. I must admit, I don't know how to put the Diplo Window in the background to check stuff before accepting. If BGN wants he can kill one of our scouting workboats.

Q has not attacked anything.

Maces will get unlocked at turn end for us, so I whipped a bit and set a round of axes going, which will convert to Maces next turn.

In terms of strategy, I will march towards Constantinople and Nicomedia in the North West. Constantinople frees up quite some land as Nicomedia is only at 20% culture. I assume we keep Const and Nicomedia (if we can get to it.
The idea to besiege Constantinople, but make it to risky for Q to reinforce it. Luckily his road network here is crap.
I will peel oof a HA to threaten PsychoPass as you said, should keep one of his Spears busy. In the south, I would like to combine all forces and take KillAKill, which is now guarded by a Longbow! No two-mover in sight, though.

My Civ warfare is very rusty. I hope I don't mess up too much.

That was silly of me (leaving workers exposed) given that I could see it coming. Oh well - maybe we pick up some Q workers along the way. This sort of sloppy play (exposed workers) seems to be my style as I keep seeing it in some pbems that I am playing. Maybe one day I will learn. Maybe not, too.

The diplo screen stops you looking around. I find it annoying too in that sometimes I want to look and then accept ... or kill and then accept.

Did BGN / you offer cease fire or peace? They are very different. CF is worth nothing as you can declare again the next turn. Peace locks you in for 10t.

Agree to trying to keep next round of cities. I razed the three original ones as we can back fill (and the one in the south was just a plain annoyance) and we didn't have units we could leave behind to hold the cities.

Agree - bringing those 2Axe . Archer together with the main group in the south was where I was heading too. It should be possible by Axe group north and others south east (also keeps others out of range of that 5 unit group to the north of KillAkill.

No problem either way. I am sure my civ4 warfare is always crap / rusty.

Q has not played yet, his first half of the turn. Only 6 hours remaining.
I have PMed him.
He was active in the forums yesterday and has not asked for a lurker to play his turn, as far as I can see, so not sure what is going on.

I think I will just play our half of the turn in a few hours regardless of whether he plays?

Fingers crossed my laptop can handle the game.

Played the turn. No combat. Just a couple of bombardments.
Move more troops in position. Maces are coming online.

2 more turns and we should be able to take the next two cities, Const & KillAKill.

I've been thinking about where this game of ours is heading. I believe that we can actually impact the end game. Why? How?

I can't see a history of when the first Great Priest was generated - I think it was around T85. Its T140 now so we should be at 110GPPs - 90pts to our next one. If we build a temple in the capital (needs religion to do that), we can cut the duration from 45 turns to 18 turns.

Then ... we just have to swing it that we sell the GP to BGN, adopt his religion and spread it through our nation. And get him to pay for it (5gpt for the GP, 1gpt for each city). Finally, get BGN to accept a game length (or there abouts) NAP - that will secure our South and East borders and leave us only having to rally forces on our North and West.

All of this using AI diplo - we should totally be able to pull this off.

I found this from a few turns ago. Assuming this is from T137, than now (T140) the capital is down from 48 to 45 turns to the new Great Priest. But it doesn't have any religion.

Q evacuated KillAKill and I took it with a single Archer.

I have done nothing more. Phew.

There are now 3 LB in Constantinople. frown

I suggest merge all southern troops in KillAKill, wait for the first Mace down there to join up as well, then proceed to Psycho Pass.

In the north, join all forces on the mine 1E of Const and bombard it down. If Q sends troops from Nicomedia to Const, we can swing towards Nicomedia.
There are also still troops of us on the galley.
