Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS!] Grimace and wetbandit hope to stay on their side of the DMZ

We are guaranteed a flip for it. We can REX hard after the GLH, a few cities are ready to spam settlers.

Indeed. Though it would suck terribly to lose a flip...to come so close.

Turn 76

We did it! (We did it!) [We did it!] Yeah, lo hicimos! (We did it!)

It gave us 5 commerce right off the bat (2 from Nevada, 1 each from E, Yamato, Musashi). Yamato is now building a settler, and Bismarck finished the chariot and started building an axe...Where should we build our next city? It's tempting to throw it on the one-tile island to give all our cities 2-commerce trade routes.

That barb spear moved perfectly...right onto the desert tile.

He was on the incense last turn, so he could have moved to two forested tiles and made it a little harder, but instead the axe had 98.8% odds and took him out easily.

Turn 77

Another barb warrior came wandering in from the east. The axe that got the spear is prepared to block him.

Enterprise finished its granary, and I set it to a Library. It's got 3 turns of unhappiness left and 6 turns to grow (it's size 4 now), so I think we should build the library for a few turns (it will be taking back the corn next turn) until it hits size 5, then switch to a settler. Maybe do a 1-pop whip of the settler, then build the library while we grow again. For obvious reasons, Big E will be our biggest commerce city for a while, so the library is definitely worthwhile.

PoW will hit size 3 and finish its Granary next turn. I want to try to avoid whipping PoW and Musashi (except maybe to whip a monument in Musashi) because there's not a lot of food and we want to be able to work the Silver and Gold as much as we can.

Both have such low food that whipping won't be a great idea, even for that monument in Musashi.

I think that pigs city is going to be more of a priority than the whosit border. Next unit from bismarck should be a spear to help project power over there. I'm a little concerned that Elum has fewer cities and that the top soldier count is high.

Other than that, the Korean people desire to spread throughout the (coastal) land!

Where do you think the pigs city should be? 1S of pigs as I suggested? Somewhere else?

Turn 78

PoW grew to size 3 this turn and was able to work the Silver again, boosting our beakers nicely (as we went to 100% science this turn). 5 turns to Math, with a little bit of a buffer if we get our next city and our maintenance costs go up, though it seems unlikely we'll have our next city in 5 turns if we're going for the pigs/horses city.

Our wounded axe handily smashed the barb warrior that was intruding on our territory, with 98.9% odds, and he's now up to 4XP total. One more battle and he gets a second promo!

PoW also gave up the rice back to Bismarck and now only has 1 net food (working a farm, the horses, and the silver), and as it finished its granary it's producing a spear (5 turns).

Bismarck is working the rice and gave up the corn and will grow to size 4 this turn at the same time it finishes an axe. I'm thinking we keep producing a few more unis here.

Big E took the corn back and is working the pigs, corn and two hamlets, allowing for growth in 4 turns, at which time it will switch to a settler.

That's the state of the world as of now.

Took a look, I think cahning Bis to a spear and PoW to a worker is a decent idea. PoW is on max hammers as it is so squeezing another worker out will be helpful with the upcoming settling spree.

I think Nevada is a decent spot to whip out another settler also, hopefully something north of it. Send the galley up that way perhaps?

We can move to make contact next turn.

Cool, we have a little room to expand in that direction before we start coming up against him.
