Jowy got peace with Fenn. I didn't check if any cities changed hands, but they very well might have, given Jowy's arrogance and apparent victory.
Jowy turned around and demanded Triceratops from us for peace.
Jowy, dude. Fundamental assumption you're wrong about. We don't really care about peace anymore!
But without an ally, I think the most we can hope for at this point is to die painfully. Not going to retake any cities with this disparity in production, not unless we somehow manage to get to Construction before Jowy does. But...our stack is nearly healthy, and there's no way Jowy can cheaply kill Shock axes used intelligently. So there's that. Maybe we can still be enough of a millstone for someone else to kill Jowy later.

Well, hmm. Jowy is not doing much of anything. Just retreating the one vulture from our NW. So far it's staying on forest hills, so I haven't molested it, but next turn I think we'll have an opportunity to kill it.
I'm guessing it's related to his research of Masonry. As noted, that's a Construction prereq. Presumably he's going to wait to do anything more until he has catapults. We don't really have enough production to steal the initiative, I'm afraid.

Got a 27% win with a chariot v vulture this turn . I guess it's got to happen occasionally, even if my intent was simply to wound the vulture so that my second chariot could clean up. That, in turn, freed up two axes to come to the front lines.
Other than that, nothing happening. No sign of invasion, but Jowy continues to build power. We should finish a spear and a chariot EOT, both in barracks cities. Haven't seen any Sumerian chariots, but surely he'll go for combined arms one of these days, right?
I'm starting to tentatively consider building a settler or two. Cities do take a while to pay back, so it mostly depends on Jowy's intentions. Which I don't have any feel for - every time I thought I knew what he was going to do, he switched things up.

If I build them, they'd go to copper and the wheat site to the west. Preimproved tiles, copper, backlines-ish, makes them more likely to actually pay off before we die. OTOH, even with imp to help us, each settler is almost two axes. Hard to believe we'll get two axes back from each new city. But Jowy is taking his sweet time coming for us again...
You can see the waffle, in real time!

Hmm. I guess the copper city could have ~6 hpt from T0. That would mean it only needs to survive 12 turns to pay for itself, if I build axes first. And it probably takes five-six turns for Jowy to march to it, so he'd have to be invading just about immediately for it not to be able to pay. That might not be too much of a gamble, really. Even odds of wasting an axe and gaining one+, depending on how long Jowy waits.
The wheat...is probably similar, except that it would be 2 hpt and 6 fpt, and an extra couple turns for Jowy to reach. But again, we can probably get two axes whipped inside 12 turns.
And that would spread out our whip unhappiness a bit, let Tyrannosaurus do 2-whips instead of 1-whips.
So long as I see no sign of Jowy, I think I will go ahead and build some settlers. It's less of a gamble than I thought, now that I do the analysis.
We just probably can't do the standard granary - culture - library - then units approach. Units first, maybe if Jowy keeps delaying eventually slip in infrastructure. At least barracks and granary.

Yeah such a city would most likely be worth it. The copper there is only 1 food so it would stay size one, but what can you do.

Then again...Jowy's up to something. I can't figure out what, but...just a couple more turns of unit production before we consider settlering:
Need to chop the capital-area trees anyway.

Looking at the scoreboard we can classify each island : the island where two guys fought an early war, the island with the strong players (seriously they have the first three places, and how can Wetbandit have such a huge score ?) and the island with the inexplicably low score.
Do you think Fenn is keeping Jowy busy by being a threat ? We must be approaching the end of their peace treaty. Jowy not having maths is great news to us, he can't get construction before us now right ?
