To be fair chariots were useless when we were defending with 65% defense bonus so we have mostly leftover axes to use

Chariots were not useless. They were expended hammer . Three chariots killed three Vultures during the invasion and diverted two more - then traded the survivors for Jowy's pair of spears at Triceratops and the top defender just now.

This whole mini-campaign is the result of Jowy surprising me by abandoning the area, which is why it's scrambled leftovers instead of a planned assault. If he'd stayed, he'd have kept his spears.

Well, total disaster. First axe had 22% odds, lost but damaged the top Vulture as expected. 2nd axe had 67% odds...also lost. So that's a net 7 units lost to kill two nono

On the bright side, that reduced our expenses enough that Construction is currently due in four turns. May fluctuate with whips and whatnot. And our whip unhappiness is nearly expired, which should let us run another round of whips to get a serious stack of cats.

Yeah frown.

I guess optimism is overrated. If I'd been properly pessimistic, I'd have retreated, burned Jowy's improvements, and we'd still have our army.

But...still every turn we're alive, Jowy's chances get that smidgen worse mischief And we'll probably be able to pick up the barb city, and the bronze city, and maybe even the Moai city, while we rebuild an army and wait to see what happens next.

Yeah, lost Triceratops, Jowy has chariots now. Today we took it back, however temporarily. Jowy sent his army...SW toward Velociraptor: 3 chariots, 2 vultures, can't remember if there was a spear or not but I kinda think there was?

Not going to be able to get the barb city soon - 3 archer fortified on a hill garrison. Which wouldn't be a problem for Vultures, but axes only get 35% odds. Construction is due in 2, and we're rebuilding our axe army at the moment; between the two of those, we can take it in ~10 turns. Assuming Jowy doesn't give us something more urgent to focus on, of course.
